Cheers mate....Was a wee bit scary but it adds to the fun....we were going to make the attempt over to the other island but my mate had a slow puncture and the wind was against us on that one so we didn't risk it.Yea the journey wasn't too bad on way back luckily enough it was quite calm.Oft a 3 hour slog back to duck bay in high winds...my backs hurts just thinking about it 😂...Cheers for watching 😊

Hello , mid August Trek is shorts and t shirt weather but as you most probably know Scotland is famous for midges so I would invest in a midge net and invest in anti midge spray or cream....as for shoes it's quite a simple trek with little no none scrambling so a nice comfortable breathable pair of trainers should be fine 😀 just bring plenty of water and you're good...I haven't done the ridge side yet but if that's what you want to do then I would wear boots as I think there's more scrambling on that side.

By looking at the current weather it shows 6 degrees C° with wind making it feel like 2°C, is it going to be that much different in August compared to now or are the weather services providing incorrect information? Regarding the midges we plan on bringing a repellent, is the head net necessary or repellent alone would suffice? Do you also know if the ground gets too muddy in case of rain? Weather services say we may expect rain most days of the month 🫣. You guys in the video went up there in summer clothes, then I see other videos in summer time of people going up dressed like for Antarctica 😂 I'm finding it extremely difficult to understand how the weather is like on top of Ben Lomond 😂 seems almost like no one agrees on the weather, some say it's super cold, some say it's warm, some weather services say it's 19°C others say it's 2°C 😂 help 😂

@@francescomoretti-sd9nb lol yea the weather in Scotland can be 4 seasons in one day.The weather reports aren't always accurate here.Here today it's 15 degrees not that sunny but its very humid...Best bet is to judge it couple of days before judging on the weather.Were suppose to be getting thunder storms this week apparently but we're again apparently the sun's supposed to be coming back after that...hopefully.The trek alone gets you quite hot so i would still wear shorts and t shirt and if your worried about the rain best bet is to invest in over trouser water proof bottoms and a light weight water proof jacket and carry that in your back pack as they wont take up much space and will still be light...pretty sure you can pick up the trousers for around £10-15 and waterproof jacket in summer for around £30 from the hill walking brands....I don't think it's going to be that cold in August that you'll have to wear any heavy clothing...but yes it still might rain a bit...because of the rainfall were getting the midges can be out in excessive numbers and I have regretted not investing in a head net as they can be very very annoying plus the wee buggers bite...not sore but yes you'll be covered in red blotches

We were lucky on our trek as we didnt have much rain so they werent out in force and we got a bit of wind which they dont like...You dont wanna be caught with out a head net and having to deal with this th-cam.com/video/ID5DslhAZ2Y/w-d-xo.html

Cheers mate....oh del USED to pack everything in that big green backpack and it used to weigh at least 20-25kg before I told him hes aff his nut lol but that's the kinda guy he is....he was always bringing spare stuff for other people.
