OTA was definitely used as a sales pitch when the car was launched here but you are right, its never coming.When I update the software on the Tesla I'm always relived when everything "just works" when I next use it..Tesla software isn't perfect but it makes good use of the available hardware..

Will be trying a few different EV's in the new year and Merry Christmas from Italy...

Thanks for your reply, I have a lot of viewers down there. probably due to the price the MG4 is available for..! Its a much better resolved product now and I never see many complaints about the charging infrastructure down there...

The Voice stopped talking after the update 🤔 Altought my wife is subjected to "Let's do this" every time she gets in the car 😁 The MG4 has certainly improved since it's introduction

Nothing here to disagree with 🤔 Although my app is now working great, I can turn on the heating in the morning and always see what the charge level is when the car is away…I even messaged the wife to tell her that one of the tyre pressures was low when she was driving 😊 The rear of the passenger cabin could do with some facilities, night and day compared to my model X but that’s 4x the price…! Thanks for your thoughts

They have defiantly improved over the last few years and have become one of the best bargain EV's on the road...

It’s fine, the problem was that the car had sat for an hour near the sea and the wind seemed to “rust” the disc 🤓 it looked strange but the car doesn’t pull at all…

Apparently, you can have too much of this driving 😁

It's good to hear they are sorting out the software.... The undertray has been a common issue from the start...Where are you based..? Some dealers are better than others 🤔

I've never experienced the "wrench" on the wheel I've read about but I turn all the assistance that can't be turned off down to it's lowest settings

I’ve had my MG4 for two years now and have not suffered from these issues. LKA remains a bit brutal despite a low sensitivity setting. A visit to the MG garage in January might fix this?

Some of those annoyances like having to keep turning off LKA (even if I get out of the car to close my gate..!) are down to the legislation...I started obsessing about what the latest software fixed but after my first experience having updates I just didn't want the risk. I've never used the hotspot..? What do you use it for..? I think spring time I'll go for the most current software available and see if my life improves 😊

Interesting 🤔 They have a slightly different line up in Europe..I never understood why my car came with a heat pump but in the UK they never..the interior for the price is ok for me although dark. I tried to order the optional grey interior (as in my first video) but there were problems getting them from the factory..

Oh, I really like my MG4! You must have refined tastes. I imagine a lot of typical car buyers think it looks quite neat. I mean everyone comes from a different car to start with too don't they. So for example I was coming from a 2015 BMW 116d and I really love the interior of my MG4, it feels cleaner and is way more comfortable and higher on the road a bit and has a better view from the front. That being said actually I do find the tech a bit over the top and annoying. But not enough to have any buyers remorse, i love it already 😅

I’ve seen that, I’m just happy that it has some functionality now 😊 I can live with it for now and maybe in the spring go and bring it up to date…

The lane keeping assist is the bane of all modern cars unfortunately 🤔 If I forget to turn it off it's annoying but no too obtrusive...The law in Europe says there has to be at least 2 actions to turn it off, Dacia have a button you just press twice on the dash..The MG requires at least 4 actions to turn it off...I have the assist set to "weak" so it's not going to wrestle me into the weeds..💪🏼

Yes. The workshop is ok, they try very hard but have very little support from MG Europe.. If you see my original video they did everything they could 🤔

The roads in the uk are way different to those in the states…. I can’t see full autonomy ever becoming a thing here though

The point of half of the video is that we have been promised this utopia of just letting the car drive as we relax and watch. There is a video on my channel of me using “FSD” twice in the uk and it is very stressful not intervening all the time. I haven’t bought the software for my X yet because I think that even though it has hardware 4 there will have to be at least another camera at the front like in the Cybertruck and probably the new model Y maybe called HW5..? I’ve just spent the last few days driving around Cornwall and it takes less than an hour before 2 or 3 of the cameras are too dirty for the system to work yet my MG4 with it’s sensors drives better in low visibility than I can 🤔 The X cost way over 100,000 yet has no system to wash the back camera… The smart summon is just a gimmick I think..I had friends who used to show it off to me in 2017 with the model S…

@@captains_log23 agree, how can any self driving car not have a sprayer on all the camera in case bird shit mud ect hits it bang on.

I concur with you obviously 🤓 I'm currently in the UK with the X 😎, having LHD in the uk isn't the best if you want to use any of that overtaking ability....I hope to try the Cyberster soon although I think you'll notice the software difference will be vast though.. What hardware version does your car have by the way...?

@@captains_log23 please stop calling it full self driving it is nothing of the sort. it is at best supervised driving, and in what could be termed sub optimal light conditions, it is whatever you want it to be called as you will be doing the driving

I totally agree, but it’s what the website calls it 🤓 I can’t see it ever working without other sensors… The fact my X had blanking plates covering where the sensors used to be makes it even more ironic

No, unless you pay the €3800 for it to change for you, you have to disconnect and then re engage after you are in the new lane… Once you do disconnect the speed hold also disconnects so you have to be ready on the accelerator 💪🏻🙄

Oh wow, over the air updates were just a pipe dream I think 🤔 You're thinking of getting another one..? I'm guessing the new lease will be less than the old one..? My MG has always steered itself but I set it to the weakest setting so as to be less annoying...

It’s always about the money 💰 When I look how much I paid compared to how much they are now 🤔 To be fair though, a Tesla model Y was almost twice as expensive as the MG back then.. I’m considering keeping the car for the 8 years of the guarantee to see how the battery lasts etc… 🤔

I’m looking at getting one in the next few weeks in Australia, however I’m concerned about after sales support. How bad is it? Warranty is 10 years but if support is bad is it really worth the risk?

@@SM-uy7oj Obviously I can't speak for the after sales in Australia but if it's anything like here in Italy it will only get better as they adapt to the new technologies... Nothing physical has really gone wrong with my car apart from the charging lights that were fixed first time...the intermittent heat pump problem still exists but I'd definitely buy again given the current prices

In the first video I made with the car I had a problem connecting the phone to it. The dealer tried a software update but killed the car and it was stuck at the dealer for over 6 weeks…! They changed some hardware but I don’t think it was correctly installed…since then I’ve just lived with it but hopefully now they know enough about the MG4 to make it work properly 🤞🏻 It’s good to know I’m one of the few that’s had this issue

Do your tyres stay inflated or is it just an indication problem..? I have to put air in almost once a week. I’ll be putting on the winter tyres soon so it will be interesting to see if that resolves the problem

@@captains_log23 I put a slightly higher than recommended to deal with cold tyre pressure alert. Im in Australia and we do not need winter tyres 🙂

I’ve never been able to see any information on mine…they replaced one of the modules when it was bricked and I don’t think the install was correctly configured 🤓

It is not a 32 A socket, it´s a 16 A 1 fase I think.

At home regularly plug my Tesla charge lead into a 32A commando socket used for my welder obviously this approximates to a full 7kW on UK 230v supply resulting in a charge rate of 20mph to my 2014 Model S P85, one thing of note even when on single phase Tesla sends power in on both L1 and L2 phase pins replicating the split phase supplies wiring in the US but in the UK / Europe that advantage is less volts drop / heat at the charge socket of the car and therefore greater efficiency. In use I note the Telsa supplied charge lead construction is absolute top class with generous cable sizing and when used with even the 32A input adaptor there is virtually no heat generation at the plug ends that would otherwise be present in competitor charge leads especially those sticking to non US convention of single phase in on L1 only (90% of non Tesla charge leads) for those of you with Zero electric motorcycles this is why you will only ever get a 3kW charge rate even if you stumped up for the additional 3 kw on board charger as its wired per US split phase with one 3kW charger on L1 and teh other on L2 so if you plug your Tesla charge lead into a 32A supply and plug it in your Zero it will now use both the 3kW onboard chargers resulting in the full 6kW charge.

I know, but when I arrive at a roundabout for example I like to quickly look at the map to remind me which exit I need because unfortunately to signs in the places I usually drive (Italy) are less than clear if indeed actually there… Sorry I missed this comment and thank you for your thoughts.
