@@braincandyshow I see your point. However (again, save for Pi (but why not Arduino)) they are pretty much dead or niche tech. Why not Apple Newton or any Palm PocketPC? The real reason of why everything after IBM PC looks weird is that IBM PC changed the perception of how the PC is looked at -- it's weird that Dell Inspiron took the place while it actually was Compaq that popularized and lifted the "clone" PCs out of the pit they were in. Compaq gets the light in the portable place but still. As well if you include CPUs and OS in there, Win 3.0 was not really it, 3.11 arguably was. Actually, classical Unix, DOS, Win95, Linux and WinXP would have been more representative in what shaped computers from that space. Win3.0 looks really weird. As well as Threadripper -- in the CPU space in x86 alone x386, Pentium Pro, P4 HT, Athlon64 and Intel Dual Core are all times and times more significant, as well as first Zens and Intel E&P core tech. As well there's Power4, ARMv1, and honorable mention goes to old Apple ones, Itanium, Willamette/Prescott/Tejas/Jayhawk. And GPUs and later TPUs... list could go on a lot, but the point is either you include only pre-made PCs that would lead you to the smartphone range -- or you include tech as well, but the right tech =)

@@braincandyshow Man one thing is the ui and one thing is the keyboard. Capcitive touchscreens were already a thing before the iphone, the reason why the most of older phones had a resistive touchscreen is that the capacitive one didn't exist. But as I said, it was a thing on phones before the release of the iphone. Same thing goes with ui as i said since it was literally the same ui of a blackberry. Other things like the apps and the app store already existed before the relase of the first iphone (that btw didn't even support apps). The only thing that iphone did is selling more than others, but it didn't really do anything new (just like it doesn't anything new today, since it mostly copies android features)
