When I hear the feedback to simplify your resume I feel someone worked so hard on their skills/experience its defeating having to do that. As a taxpayer you earned having to collect government assistance to assist temporarily..your focus is not being on the "system permanently"
This is definitely relatable! These companies have no soul and don't care! Trying to find another multiple stream of income is key, so you don't have to rely on one job! Hopefully, with your husband it offered some emotional n financial support! Keep going! ❤
Great video, thank you for being so vulnerable with your experience.

Good point!
Thank you for this behind the scenes look on the lighting process! I must applaud the zoom in affect. Keep up the great work!
@@cpj80 Thank you!! I'm trying 😊
I enjoyed her speech as well and she has a large following.
They could do much better, but that all they were able to get, I guess 🤷🏽♀️
@@iamshauniesanders Hi Shaunie! Who do you think would be better to speak that is openly republican. This is a genuine question based off of interest and learning other perspectives. I think she was the perfect person to speak to her base about her transformation. The job of the speaker is to speak to only their base and she did that job. Now if they accept and embrace this message is another thing. BTW I love the diversity in thought that you built in your community! I'm trying to keep up watching as you post 🥵. Dialogue is so important and sadly missing in our larger media entities. Blessings to all of you 🙏🏿 .
@cpj80 I believe he could've literally got anyone else, but it seems she was the best he could get. Amber Rose never had a great image, and she's never been known for her politics. She's only known for dating rappers.
No it aint lmfao
@JJARCHIE It's not a bad starter camera for someone on a budget and wants to start creating content
I thought her speech was absolutely beautiful ❤️
Her speech was weak, and no one believed her at all, especially Republicans
She was to attract a different demographic. She has over 20 million followers. It seems to be an effort to expand his base. I think it was a great idea.
I can relate! Same thing happened to me in 2022. I’m a substitute teacher now the pay is nothing… I was making 6figures. 😢

I was on ebt for 3 years between 2009 and 2012. I applied to the Post Office in 2012, got hired in 2013 and haven't looked back. It's a tough job when you start out but becomes easier in time. I earn enough money to live the life I want with job security and a full pension when I'm ready to retire.

I was faced on a similar situation. I had to humble myself and ask God what it is it that Ne wants me to do. I also fasted and prayed. The career thatGod wants me to do is nothing that I would have ever thought would be for me. Also, keep a journal.

What unexpected lesson did you learn from a major career setback or layoff?
Omfg yes
I knew I had limited time before I would age out...that is why I started my urban farm. I experienced a layoff after 17 years...I totally understand your thoughts.
I think that what I'm experiencing now, with looking for work.
I will keep you in prayer. You already got this sis.
Thank you!
That's the part that almost broke me. When blood relatives just looked at me AND turned their backs. AND held it against me that I wasn't showing up for them. still.
Yes, that's always the hard part. I was always the one everyone could turn too.
Curiously, is your husband not able to cover the main bills on his own? This sounds like you are the main bread winner or the story of a single person. Someone said you might have had some over spending. And no shade, this happens a lot. I am at the point (bc I have been thru job loss), to live far below your means and save. I also learned the hard way. And what you said about not being able to rely on people who you’ve helped before, is REAL. You are surprised by this when it happens. I was. Which is why I will make all provisions for myself going forward. I will still help others when I can, but I will never rely on anyone again. Only God you can rely on, and He can open doors for you at the appropriate place and time. You will flourish again- and I agree with you on taking your power back.
@LM33333 Yes, he's been able to keep us a float, but my check took care a lot more of the bills. I'm just used to being a contributor, and that's been difficult.
@@iamshauniesandersI got it. Then perhaps you are also dealing with emotions of not adding financially. However, you can add in many other ways-managing expenses, researching and implementing cheaper alternative, sell items not needed to pay debt, and cooking, etc. Also the black woman hard work idea is one to put down. Keep looking to secure your house by being the manager of your household. As natural multiple taskers (women), this is where we shine. But give yourself grace, as a woman, & let your husband take care of you all financially, while you manage things and find other streams for both of you. Changing your mindset will change your anxiety levels. I wish black women knew more that they are worth being taken care of, financially. I pray God orders your steps and show you the way.
@@LM33333 Thanks you for the encouraging words and you've given me so great advice. It's is hard to just be taken care of and not be contributing. I have been selling things that I just don't really need anymore and taking gigs where I can find them.
Hi. You are welcome. Experience shared is great for us all. You are still valuable outside of financial contribution. Though ridding yourself of unnecessary things as a family unit, is a good move to the home overall. Allow your husband to support you, if he already can, and release the anxiety in order to securely find your path. You are in a very great place/spot to discover who you really are and what activities make you happy. For me, it took a while to take on being taken care of. And I have to say, it feels very good and de-stressed. I feel Loved and valued for who I am, not what I bring in. Ie. man provider/ woman nurturer. And my mind is now open to securely pursue other things. Relax and let go, in order to flow easily. And in conjunction, I have also discovered that I like to be occupied , so making money along with other non-money making vocations, are things I would like to enjoy. And I can pursue without needing the results right away. I see making money now, not as me contributing, bc my value is much more than that. I now see it as my engagement in life, and as My 2nd security. 2nd security is also a lesson I am just learning the hard way. It is crucial.
Dang this is nuts another black person had this same testimony and he says he’s betting it all on TH-cam. Glad I got trade as a backup just in case if a corporate layoff happens. Sorry dear you’ll bounce back.
@@solarcognac7112 Thanks for the encouragement
Hubby? Does he help you?
@amac9443 Yes, he's been helping, but it's been tough since I made significantly more. I'm so used to being a contributor I'm my home and my own life.
Best of luck to you and your family. Spend time with God daily in prayer and ask him to order your steps. I guarantee he'll show you the way. 💛
@jovialjae Yes, I've been praying and asking for guidance 🙏
Food stamps is legit 😂. I love food stamps ❤ I eat better on food stamps. Too bad the government don't give it freely. And the crowd goes wild "Food stamps food stamps food stamps" 😂
@@Repentedandsaved They've been helpful for sure. I'm not too proud to get help when I need it.
Thank you for sharing your story. Sis I feel you. Being a black woman in a white working corporate environment is not for the weak. The level of jealousy and pettiness made me sick and I will never see white women the same. The reason why so many of us black women chose the entrepreneurial route and are successful at it is because our skills and competencies were never the issues to being with. Also, it's way more fulfilling to work for yourself, even if it's harder, the peace of mind is just priceless. Sending all the love !
Thank you for sharing! I know how you feel, I was a black woman in tech, so I was the only black woman/person in the room.
I do agree with you sis well said, the situation only motivate you to meet and overcome all obstacles.
As a black male in a corporate society I just experienced that. I was employed for 7 years and my position was terminated without a days notice. I worked at #mbso #mercedesbenzofsouthorlando never again will I be put in that position again. I believe in karma what goes around comes back around.
@@positivevibrations7859 They are ruthless. Stay encouraged
Starting a business is a lot harder than you think. A lot of people who have so-called businesses are really just scammers. Or they're frauds doing things like selling courses. They aren't running legit businesses. That is why they are broke after a few years because they were running a con game not a business. If you're running a legit business on a good foundation, it can take years to get off the ground. And you can go several years operating at a loss before you ever see profit. You can't just decide "oh I'm laid off with no income, let me just go ahead and start a business". You're better off getting a job, and getting an income. Downgrade your lifestyle. Live modestly, and grow a business a business.
The "getting a job" is a lot harder for me now than it was a few years ago, I now have to think about my age and if my resume ages me. I'm in a field where I'm competing with people half my age
A great rule of thumb is if you are married, live on one income and save the other spouses income. There are ways you probably over spent. But I’m glad you realize it now. It is hard to save but It is harder to live without savings. And I live by that. I wish you nothing but the best.
Thank yo for the advice, yes, things will be different going forward
Great video! I’m rooting for you!!!
Thank you!!
I got laid off at 58 and then realized I didn't want to work anymore anyway. I had a fat bank account, but was stressed out and miserable. I lived off savings until my pension kicked in a year later and haven't looked back. You know what I miss about working a corporate gig, nothing. I was going to work every day just to support a house full of stuff. I sold my house, got rid of 90% of my stuff and couldn't be happier. Don't attach your personal value and worth to a job title. This is just an obstacle to a better life. You'll be fine.
Same!!! 🥳☺️
Thanks for the encouragement 🙏
This is stronggggggggg. I love it. Congrats on your wake up call. I wish you nothing but prosperity. 🫶🏽
❤❤❤❤
I feel this !!!!
Your story doesn’t make sense. You said a high six figure income and no savings, had to rely on government assistance?
Yes, it was hard to save, I saved a little, but with the cost of everything, it can be difficult
HAVE AN EMERGENCY FUND❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ before those miami vacations ...i have been homeless and fired a few times 😢😢😢😢😢😢 i learned my lesson
I stay with 2 jobs because of this reason. I work full time and part time. I save, invest and live very frugally. You won’t get on over on me believe that. I don’t trust anything.
Smh. Why are all these channels and videos advocating people to crate businesses? Yall don’t even barely know how to operate a business yourselves! 🤣🤣🤣 you had a whole side hustle and admitted you didn’t save. It’s cause you knew you didn’t want to rely on that sh*t. Oh well, not my life.
Exactly not yours. I was comfortable in my job, but lay-offs can happen to anyone, and before you know it, you've run through it.
First off, you have a phenomenal voice. Second, what was your previous job? Third, I couldn’t agree more. Ownership is key: car, home, low overhead cost, etc…
Her voice did catch my attention!
Thank you! I was a product manager for a tech company.
Thank you for sharing your story. The same thing happened to me in March and I am struggling to find a new job. You've got this!
God still provides 🙏
This is why you live below your means and stash that cash!
Yes, believe in that strategy, but I never lived above my means.
You still have to pay taxes on the house and the car every year
Yes, of course, but no mortgage or car payment. I can manage taxes
