I remember climbing this when the cables were lowered to the rock and you had to crouch down to try and get your hands under them to hold on..remember having a frikin panic attack

Yeah I can't even believe people would choose not to use at least one caribiner. A few of those people did not look fit nor experienced enought to NOT use one. Shame about the recent young woman(athletic) who passed with her Dad right there. Sad. Be safe.

Going up "don't look down", going down "don't look up".

That's the hard way to do it. You can get down super fast and easy just going backwards with a hand on each cable and sliding your feet down the granite. Assuming there aren't 50 people in your way because someone froze up. Good sticky boots/shoes are a must.

Everyone says the toughest part is coming down with others in your path.

I have climbed Mt. Shasta a few times and can attest that no camera or video camera can capture the true steepness of mountain climbing. It can only be understood when seen in person and not by a camera lens.

Im not sure if I should be impressed with 15 min of locking and unlocking your safety chain. I mean can they space those pylons farther apart or something? have to change every second seems un-fun

Goes without saying but you should have run two tails (two biners) so that you were never fully disconnected from the cables.

I used those same grippy gloves!👍 Made all the difference.
