As BBC Outside Broadcasts finally disapears (vis SiS) after about 70 years, Bernie has found this compliation of events covered in about 1981 admirably voiced by Ian Dow. Standby for tingling down teh spine and possible tears!

This is so interesting. When I was a kid I wanted to be a cameraman, I applied but kept getting told I was too young. Id try again now-but theyd tell me I was too old lol. I didnt realise BBC tv news started in 1954-four years before I was born. Wow, my earliest memories are of Richard Baker and Robert Dougal reading the lunchtime news...... As for robot cameras-dont get me started. Great stuff
