Big City Mornings (So Far Away From Home) @theunderclassacademy
This song is dedicated to all the big cities around the world, and what first appeared to be so appealing about them, have turned into boredom and an everyday life with no glimpse of releafe, it seems.
The stress, the noise, the cheer, and the pain of commuting to work every day for an hour or so and waking up with a feeling that you need to perform, eventhough your not in that business at all.
What I like the most is this ongoing lie. People have about the suburbs and how they actually tell them selves that this is the way to live. It has a certain sadness over itself, and it's a kind of a roleplay that people play, but I really hate playing because it's not them, and it never was.
That's what I've tried to capture within the lyrics of this song, especially if your not local but rather comes from the outside, trying to work your self up and being good for everyone else but yourself.
#bigcity can be like a canvas to me. There are motives and lyrics being drawn and written everywhere if you only stop for a second to take a good look at it all!
Most fail, a few succeeded, usually in the end it doesn't make much of a difference because you have stopped following your dreams and your own path in life, only to give in to a career that in the end, probably won't get you anywhere except to an office with a desk you don't want, in a skyscraper you don't like!
Vhen you listen to this song, do me a favor and picture yourself standing on the sidewalk on an early morning, where their are silverclouds hanging above your head giving a few drops of rain as the morningrush is about to begin.
Does it sound familiar? well, guess what, I've been there, so I know that feeling, and it sucks big time, and with the rain pouring down during the day, it's so obvious that you should leave and go back too where you came from, or to a house in the country somewhere.
This song can be found on all music platforms along with all my other stuff as well. I hope you enjoy it. The lyrics are the most important thing in this lofirock song. It's like a mix between lofi and college rock, so be prepared for a very alternative four minutes.
when it comes to gear, I have used a very old Valvedistortion pedal I have and my Tanglewood Les Paul with Dimarzio pickups and, of course, my all-time favorie amplifier#Blackstar ID-core 30 v
That combo gives me exactly the sound I want for most recordings and live as well because the Blackstar is a very powerful little amp!
