This magnificent walk never ceases to amaze me. In this video are used warp speed on the GoPro to condense most of it to less than 10 minutes.

    Here in California people tend to cut these trees down unfortunately. There is a lot of propaganda about the cones being dangerous and most people end up cutting them down. You hardly ever see them around and when you finally find one it usually sooner or later is cut down. It really is a shame.

    • @GetInspiredMedia
      @GetInspiredMedia 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for your comments. I did not know that you had these in California. To be honest most people do not realise how good the nuts from these trees are. First Nations people would be very familiar with them and I suspect that they gather the cones when they find them. I have never heard of anyone being hurt by a falling cone but I imagine that they could cause serious injury. The branches themselves could create serious injury if you were to bump into or tread on one. We had one of these trees in the grounds of a place where I worked. We had to be very careful. Thank you so much for your comments. They are really appreciated and are interesting 👍

      @@GetInspiredMedia There are some very old ones around if you know where to look. There are two famous botanists from the late 1800's to early 1900's named Kate Sessions and also Katherine Tingley. I think they are responsible for most of the bidwillii plantings in San Diego and Balboa Park. You don't see too many young ones since nowhere is willing to sell them or has them. I planted some at my house and my mom's house and gave some to friends. There is a very mature one at the Nazarene college down the street from my house. Do most of the cones that drop have viable seeds for germination? Maybe I can get a hold of some from someone who has a mature tree.

      Approximately 1 hour 40 minutes if you take your time and enjoy the walk Mark. I think you could rush it and do it quicker but that would defeat the purpose in my opinion Mark. It’s not what you would call a challenging walk but it is stunningly beautiful and most enjoyable. I personally prefer to start early morning while it is still dark so that you catch the sunrise in transition. My daughter did a midday walk recently and there were a number of groups already at the summit. She wasn’t concerned but I love having it to myself. Happy walking Mark and make sure you enjoy the walk as much as the summit 👍 Just take care crossing the road from the Carpark. It’s the most dangerous part!

      Hi Markey! To be honest I’ve stopped using the gimbal. Some of it is circumstantial but also it’s fairly fragile putting a camera of that size on a gimbal and I like fairly active outdoor shooting. From memory Marky I could not use all of the Bluetooth features when I was using it. Stability was quite good however. It’s good to bare in mind that the ZV E10 will not replace an action camera like a GoPro. But it could produce quite cinematic results for steady, not too aggressive movement shots. All the best and I am sorry I can’t be of more help just at the moment. Cheers, Dave

      Agree. Visited today and felt sick at what has been done here. It felt almost dystopian - barren and unnatural. Seems as though the residents are enjoying the lifestyle so that’s a positive.
