Was there a reason you didn't use the other Freeze plug port that appeared to be more accessible?
Now that I'm done watching the video, I know the answer to that question.
Yup, I should have paid better attention before I started. It would have been easier to use the other location. It's been a few years since I installed it and I haven't had any issues with it.
Is it the same for the back
the back won't have a drive shaft to deal with, it should be a little easier.
Did you have to drain the transmission fluid beforehand? In this video he mentioned it. th-cam.com/video/6QS4Eyo0VIY/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much. You got off easy the dealership wanted 180 dollars an hour to swap mine. Thank you again😊
I'm glad it helped.
Most filters require 3/4 to 1 turn.
This is cake. Try the first gen Fusion wheel bearings- they’re press in. These ones a toddler could do in an hour.
Appreciate the walk through. Pretty sure I somehow stressed the axle and damaged the drivers side axle seal while replacing the shocks.
I nicked the seal on mine, putting it back in. I still have to change it out. I just never drive the car anymore, so no rush on changing it.
Thank you!
You're welcome.
106 in lbs for the plugs from the maintenance manual.
Wow! had the same problem with our car. Wife brought it into Lincoln place for oil change and got the same song and dance and I was like BS, $150, nah, bring it home then find out on TH-cam it's a common problem. Gee thanx Ford! 🤑🤑 another fine product!🤪🤪 Thanx for the video, confirmed what I thought.
Thanks dude!
Happy to help!
@@VansHomeServicesdang still responding to comments a year later that’s amazing thanks for the vid just got a Lincoln n need my first oil change needed this!
@@Jhitemup Glad I could help. Best of luck with your new Lincoln.
Will this work for a f350 2018 as well??
I would think so, but I'm not 100% sure.
Got 2 of them one is 12ft other is 16ft. Both have a hydraulic jack
I should have gotten the hydraulic jack, I was being cheap.
Harga baru nya berapa ini seri berapa
I just did the hub ion my 2013 mks , 94k mi , and the rotor was held on by one allen flush hed bolt with I might add had lock tight on it , never been off before , if I didn't own a set of torches , I would have never have broke the bond of the lock tight , after that it was just as the video described / Frank
I've dealt with a few of them over the years, never easy to get them out. I'm glad the rest of the video was a help to you.
Cool well done!
Thanks
Nice video 👍
Thanks 👍
No cam lock at the top is very bad. If you try and spread gravel, when that load hits the back doors theyll never fit proper again. No powder coat no thanks. Ive seen enough. Thanks
Which excavator you use for the Mulcher
I run it on a cat 303.5C CR
Way easier to do than the previous gen mkz.
Dealership wanted to charge me $620...guess we're breaking out the tools😂
It's very straight forward job. You can get it done with basic hand tools.
Mee af!!!!
Thank you sir!! Saved me money!! More mkz hybrid videos please!! I have a 2014!
I'm glad it helped you out. I have a few more videos on my channel. If you subscribe you'll get notifications when I post a new one.
Might I add,use a longer extention on your socket and using Teflon tape is not smart. Use thread sealant/pipe dope.
I came here today because my mother in laws Lincoln has made me crazy for far longer than it should have. I've tried the factory wrench, then a 3/4, 13/16, 19mm and 20mm and was left scratching my head in frustration. I like the tip on using the 8 point. I will be going to pic one up before going back at this again today. "How hard is it to change a wheel, I've done it many times before" was what I said more than 4 hours prior to this ordeal.
They are a pain to remove.
Can’t believe you have the exact same brand, model, year, and problem that I am having. I thought I was going crazy until I saw this video, wanted to do some research before I took a hammer to a 3/4 socket, so I turned to TH-cam and here you are! Thanks for sharing
I'm glad it was a help.
Do you get a decent amount mulching jobs? I'm looking at a similar set up, would you recommend? Good ROI?
No, I have only used it a few times over the last 2 years. I just havent found people that want to spend the $ on earth work. I usually do decks and home improvements. The $ is much better and it seems that there is always someone looking for home renovations.
What are symptoms of it being bad
A thumping sound when you make a tight turn.
Did it fix the sound? I’m getting a weird humming sound (kinda like an airplane talking off) from my front left wheel. (only at higher speeds or slowing down) Thinking it’s the wheel bearing but I’m curious what others think.
@benzahm6056 no it didn't. I had a high pitch sound a few years ago and it ended up needing a new trans. They did it under warranty at 97,000 miles, s8nce the hybrid system has a 100k warranty.
@@benzahm6056 I've had 3 transmissions in my 2013 mkz. It's definitely a transmission going bad.
I replaced the knuckle on a lincoln mkx that was damaged in an accident with a ford edge knuckle and hub that said would fit but the hub diameter is just a little too big so doesnt allow wheel to sit on the hub the way it should. The old hub and bearing are fine thinking I could just swap them out but I didnt see bolts holding the hub on but might be behind the heat shield.
What quick couple is that? Just got a cat 303.5 and i need one and I like how that locks.
It's a flat face . Here is the link to a set of 4 and a set of 1. amzn.to/4aEmXkM amzn.to/3TG7DOO
Im talking about the bucket coupler. Who makes that?
Lol, not as cheap. USA Attachments in NC, they built the quick attach, thumb and 2 of my buckets. I've been happy with all of it.
Poke a hole in the bottom of the oil filter and let it drain out. Less mess.
That's a good idea, I'm going to try that next time.
doesnt the bed come dimpled?
Yes, there is a dimple in the bed where the ball goes.
My 2018 measured 1/4 inch before The dimple. And that was at the 45 and a half inch mark. The instructions say use the dimple in 2021 models and newer ( or 45 3/4 inch )
I have had two B&W gooseneck hitches and really like them. My one complaint is that, living on a dirt road, when the ball is stowed below the bed, it tends to get really nasty from the dust coating it (I grease before each use). As an alternative, I cut a wooden block to fill the square hole when the ball is not in use.
I haven't had that problem, I don't see any dirt roads. That's a good idea with the wooden block.

Good vid .cheers
I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Lincoln charges a hell of a lot more than $100-150 to do that job buddy I promise you that 😏✌️

These are all season ? How do they preform in cold
I don't drive in the snow, since it rarely snows were Im at, but they do well in the cold, rain and dry weather. I haven't noticed much if any noise difference from the OEM tires. When the time comes for tires I will be putting these on again.
Did my 2017 yesterday- the good old fashioned way: cardboard on concrete! So fulfilling... Get this- Had my last change done by my trusty local mom n' pop shop and musta had new guy- it was double-gasketed!!! How on earth did that not leak??? I will mention it if I have them do it again, but probably stick to doing it myself- as I usually do. Love those valves, great for if you accidentally over fill, or need to add some additive and remove a bit, but yes, they are slow. Still indispensable, but I forgot to get one to swap out on this rig. Next time. I also use clear tubing to route the oil closer to the pan- in windy conditions, it's imperative. That lift is gold!
I have found that most places don't do a great job and charge an arm and a leg.
@@VansHomeServices True of most! this beloved place charges me about $30-ish more than I can do it myself- using all Motorcraft oil/filter. Just a great little family shop- been doing business with them for years when I don't feel like doing something.
That's a good deal. Just started my oil change today and found a bad Upper oil pan seal. Looks like a few more videos coming on how to pull the trans, and replace a rear main seal and oil pan seals.

For the torque - how certain are you that the axle nut goes back in at 147 ft/lbs of torque?
For the torque - how certain are you that the axle but goes back in at 146 ft/lbs of torque?
I'm not 100%, I got that number from autospecz.com/lincoln/cars/2016/mkz2.0/torque-specs_front.php
2" wheel spacers are a bad idea. In the UK you see maybe 3/4 inch spacers being fitted max.. anything more than that is a bit stupid
Yup its not the best idea. He went through 3 or 4 broken wheel bearings.
This is a much better design. No special tools needed to remove the bearings.
Nope it's straight forward
human ilness to keep everything stringent, spoiling biodiversity and making lots of co2 emission - so braindead as it can be😢😢

How many hrs on this head? How does it perform in blackberries?
I have about 10 hrs on it. I have never cut blackberries, but I would think it would cut them.
Really!!! 10 hrs and you already have to change bearings/seals. You have any idea why so soon?
It ended up being a bad hydraulic motor on the cutter not the bearings. Mongo Attachments wanted to try the bearings first. They sent me everything first free.
