Hi, yes we booked a taxi transfer from our hotel to the train station. A van picked us up from our hotel.

It was included with our stay at the hotel (Tapas Ecolodge). If you were to book it separately, it would be about 200,000 VND ($8.00 USD). Please check with your hotel as they can arrange it for you

Hi, They let us board the train 1 hour before departure. We boarded at 8:30pm. Yes, shower facilities are available at Lao Cai station.

Thank you! Yes we did get a free beer, coke, tea, coffee, and a pack of Oreos. The toilets were nice and clean. It is a good idea to walk with your own toilet paper.

Hi, everywhere we went had signs with the price and time limits. They also had people working at the parking lots which was helpful. Most of them were cash only. I'm not sure about the city area. We picked up the car in the city and returned it the same day so we did not have to park in the city.

Hello, Driving in Kyoto was very easy. The streets were not busy and we had freedom to move at our own pace. We also went to the country side and areas that were not as touristy. We enjoyed renting a car for the day in Kyoto. In Tokyo we took the trains everywhere which was very efficient.
