@ ah thank you so much! We definitely recommend booking any excursions you want to do well in advance, we actually missed out on an excursion in Sitka because we waited too long and it booked up! For the ship, definitely make the most of your sea days and enjoy all of the activities! Also, when leaving Skagway be sure to get a good spot in the solarium to enjoy the views as you leave through the inside passage! 🏔️

Right!! They told us that anything the whale doesn’t eat will get spat out but still crazy to see! They also said (I think it was this summer) a seal ended up in one of the whales mouths! There’s a photo of it looking at someone’s camera as it’s being taken in! 🦭

Thank you! Ahh I'm glad you enjoyed it! That's really cool, the actual Science Centre seemed to be running tours, we didn't see if they were paid for or maybe by donation however. Fingers crossed! They seemed to release the iFly free sessions throughout the cruise but as soon as they start showing up on your app, definitely get yourselves booked on! We hope you have an amazing cruise!! So jealous!

Of course! Yeah that sounds about right. If you're struggling to find them I believe you could go to the iFly check-in desk and they can see their availability and add you to a time slot. We had some issues and they were really helpful there.

We were considering the Fortress of the Bears as an excursion and couldn't work out how to get there on our own, we were kinda sad we missed out on it! I think you've solidified that if we head back to Sitka, we'll have to pay them a visit! We really enjoyed Sitka, definitely a great port of call! Thanks for watching the vide :)

@@jakeandgeorgia we took the bus into town and they had tour people driving busses. we just jumped on one of those that took us to both places.. they also have taxi and uber. Raptor is maybe walkable by the totem park but the bears you need to defiantly drive to. you really only need 30min at each place.. they had good shopping at each also. there both non-profits so the money they make goes into the sanctuary's.. was good to support them.

Hi there! Thank you for watching our video, I'm glad you found it helpful! I agree, I'd rather videos be transparent on costs, especially with these sort of things. So we went with this ship due to the virtual balcony. We knew we wouldn't spend much time in the cabin but when we were there, the screen really helped us stay connected to our surroundings. It helped us plan our outfits in port and see when we were docking and departing. I think if we had a balcony we'd have spent more time there, rather than the decks and solarium but we went on this ship specifically for the activities and attractions so saving on the room was great. We sailed mid-September and had pretty bad weather. We had rain each day with a few dry spells and heard this season was just very wet and cold. My parents sailed to Alaska last year and had glorious sunshine most of their trip, so it really does come down to luck. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions, please let me know!! We're uploading vlogs from each day of our cruise every Friday so you might want to check them out to get an idea of weather, ports of call etc!
