swiss army knife original 16 function. affordable!!
Mine had dirt in the inside parts so I took a water flosser and normal flosser and tried to get all the grime out now I’m letting it dry In a cloth
What kind of oil do you use?
good job cleaning clean knife lol
This video is no good for the midnite minichamp, which has a battery and circuitry in it.
Great video 👍
Kaboom. Great hint. Thanks mate.

I have no idea what’s wrong with my Swiss Army knife. I cleaned it in soapy water and even oiled the hinges and still, I cannot open some of them. What should I try?
Puedo usar wd40,?
Like glass do love the fresh plaster
what about behind the radiator?
I would have removed the radiator but my customer didn't want to have it removed
This guy has a lot of birth marks on his hands.
Thanks for the demo.I did not remove the handles on my black champ and I ruined them from using gas to clean .I ordered replacements. It was contaminated to where I could not open anything. I have restored and old friend.
I know im just a couple of years late but hopefully someone can still answer me: what kind of oil are you using? Would vegetable oil work, or maybe wd40, or do you use something special?
I use the actual recommended 'Victorinox Multi Tool Oil' for pocket knives? It has been specially formulated to lubricate SAK's and protect them from corrosion. The lube is odourless and does not stain your clothes. you don't need very much (literally a couple of 'drops') and it's safe for cutting/eating food. Average cost is about £6.00 for a small bottle (just checked, it's 14g - but as mentioned you only need a 'drop' to go a long way...). I was also told that Singer 'sewing machine oil' works well, but haven't tried it. (Again I just Googled it and you get a much bigger looking bottle - 125ml - for £3.00 / £4.00 only).
Hey bro, what did you use to oil your knife?
oil.
@@chunkymilk mate it's been a year🤣
You should use KPL. Knife Pivot Lube. It’s amazing. Cleans and protects like no other.

What oil is best?
Hi Paul, there is a link in description. This is the recommended oil that is food safe 🙂
Do you have to oil it?
Great video! Thanks you sir!
what kind of oil do u use?
Will gun oil work?
Hi Raul villegas, I'm not sure but if you did use it, I don't think it would be food safe. I have added a link to victorinox showing you the correct oil to use. It's not to expensive.
Naaa I want a way to just let it sit in something for a bit.
I found sewing machine oil was fine enough for this job.👍
You didn't even remove the toothpick and the tweezers while in the water, and you had them dry inside their slots
Issit necessary to oil it..???
This guy knows his stuff. Blimy!
Wow! You cant wash them with water! That put a Special oil on the inside Of The blades and when They Get water on them They Get all squeaky and Rusty
If you want to leave a comment at least learn the facts before doing so. Please follow the link below to victorinox. This has a pdf file showing you how to clean your knife. Nah your earphone doesn't broken..
I have one over 50 years old. Badly needs a clean.
Great Video! BUT pLEASE dON'T COUGH into the MIC, umm...ok?
I tried this and cut myself waaay to many times 🤦♀️ also it still looks a bit dirty, it’s so hard to reach to all the joints, any advice?
I've been told a toothbrush works well maybe you could give that ago
Oops nearly forgot to say that this is a great 👍 video but i am not sure what oil to use ??
Sorry it's taken me so long to reply.thank you for taking the time to watch my video. I have added a link in description for the recommended oil all you need to do is click the link. hopefully this helps.

Can never understand why they made the magnifying glass housing plastic, on the old wenger it’s metal
Because it's cheap, shock resistant, do not rust and lasts forever.
It also reduces the overall knife 'weight'...
How do you open the hook so easily even in water. I struggle to open it even using toothpick.
Why don’t you just dip it in oil then clean of the parts after?
great tips! i soak it or any other multitool or folding knife in WD40, in a little plastic bag, at home, keep it several hours then bring it at work. there i have access to compressed air, on a 15mm hose and on a 3mm nozzle. sometimes i use bike chain lube(oil). bit the method showned here is great too if one dont have access to a compressor.
Great video
Goes to show people think any old shit is content 🤦♂️
can i use kitchen vegetable oil?
Great video. What kind of oil do you use? Here in Spain we only have olive oil and sunflower oil for cooking. Would any of those do? Cheers
I would recommend getting either camellia oil online or finding avocado oil. Both of the oils you mentioned will go rancid, unfortunately. Cheers.
Mineral oil also works great, you can find that at most pharmacies.
@@guacamole2993 Thanks!
If you do food prep with your tool, I recommend getting the Victorinox brand of oil as theirs is food-safe.
@@Thirsty_Fox I might have used it to cut bread in a camping situation once or twice, but other than that mine's not really for food prep. Thank you for the advice though!
Can i use a baby oil to clean my swiss army knife ?
Yes and Vaseline works as well as does Silicone Spray.
@@ich8159 cool thank you
Yeah right. How about just soak in Soda Crystals for a couple of hours. Then brush off with a Toothbrush. A quick oil and that's it.
Thanks for sharing. Really help me maintain my 28 years old swiss army knife
Well done friend..! You've got a beautifully clean knife! I'm about to service mine that my grandfather bought me in the 70's as a little boy. I appreciate the inspiration - best to you!
Nice
My dad just bought a sand sort camo swiss kinfe and i love it!
@@Rainbing fantastic… It’s amazing how many years they can go before needing any kind of service. Have fun with it!
Could i use the oil that I use for my trumpet in this swiss armt knife?
I'm not sure but the recommended oil isn't that expensive, you can follow the link on my page to Victorinox to purchase the recommended oil thanks
I wouldn’t recommend it, valve oil contains things specifically for an instrument and might damage the metal since it is designed for brass
I forget to take mine out of my pocket and it goes through the clothes washer a few times a year! Lolol works perfectly!!!
Hahaha!
Scales can get all bent in washing machine due to temperature.
Was about to type the same thing
Oh... Lucky it din go down the drain.....
hi, how often do you clean your Swiss knife?
