    Mine had dirt in the inside parts so I took a water flosser and normal flosser and tried to get all the grime out now I’m letting it dry In a cloth

    Thanks for the demo.I did not remove the handles on my black champ and I ruined them from using gas to clean .I ordered replacements.It was contaminated to where I could not open anything. I have restored and old friend.

      I use the actual recommended 'Victorinox Multi Tool Oil' for pocket knives? It has been specially formulated to lubricate SAK's and protect them from corrosion. The lube is odourless and does not stain your clothes. you don't need very much (literally a couple of 'drops') and it's safe for cutting/eating food. Average cost is about £6.00 for a small bottle (just checked, it's 14g - but as mentioned you only need a 'drop' to go a long way...). I was also told that Singer 'sewing machine oil' works well, but haven't tried it. (Again I just Googled it and you get a much bigger looking bottle - 125ml - for £3.00 / £4.00 only).

    You should use KPL. Knife Pivot Lube. It’s amazing. Cleans and protects like no other.

      Hi Raul villegas, I'm not sure but if you did use it, I don't think it would be food safe. I have added a link to victorinox showing you the correct oil to use. It's not to expensive.

    Wow! You cant wash them with water! That put a Special oil on the inside Of The blades and when They Get water on them They Get all squeaky and Rusty

    great tips! i soak it or any other multitool or folding knife in WD40, in a little plastic bag, at home, keep it several hours then bring it at work. there i have access to compressed air, on a 15mm hose and on a 3mm nozzle. sometimes i use bike chain lube(oil). bit the method showned here is great too if one dont have access to a compressor.

      I would recommend getting either camellia oil online or finding avocado oil. Both of the oils you mentioned will go rancid, unfortunately. Cheers.

      If you do food prep with your tool, I recommend getting the Victorinox brand of oil as theirs is food-safe.

    Yeah right. How about just soak in Soda Crystals for a couple of hours. Then brush off with a Toothbrush. A quick oil and that's it.

      I wouldn’t recommend it, valve oil contains things specifically for an instrument and might damage the metal since it is designed for brass
