Gustavsson Family Lights 2024 - XLATW - Believer by Imagine Dragons
This is our family's submission to xLights Around the World (XLATW). XLATW is a project undertaken by the lighting community where users of the xLights software all put the same songs on their display and then videos of all of these displays are combined together for one video to showcase the light displays of hundreds of people around the world.

The show this year has 25,539 pixels controlled by a Falcon F48V and Falcon F16V4 with expansion board. It is run by a Raspberry Pi 4B using FPP. All sequences are developed using the xLights software.
We have 2 outdoor P5 panel matrices with custom made outdoor enclosures. The first (seen on the right) is a 6W x 7H (384x224) run with a Raspberry Pi 4B and 2 Colorlight cards and is used for videos and large matrix effects. The second (not seen in video) is a 3W x 3H (192x96) run with a Raspberry Pi 4B and 1 Colorlight card and is used to display our FM radio station (91.9), messages to viewers, and the current song name.
The pixel lights are powered by 25 350W 12V Meanwell power supplies in 12 separate enclosures for the lights, and 6 300W 5V Meanwell power supplies in the 2 panel matrix enclosures.

This is one of the best light shows I've ever Dean and what in a strange minimum music I'm a die hard Top Gun fan but the music alone on this was just outstanding I am a fan for life great job God I wish I was your neighbor I Be bragging about this to everybody I know saying ha ha you don't live where I do

@gustavssonfamilychristmaslight You mean kind of like the beginning of the movie I think you did a great job And I've been watching the other videos but I've got to say this one hands down is the best but I'm a die hard Top Gun fan what can I say in the F14 Tom cat was always my favorite jet before the movie
@ yeah, there is not a clear overlap between the top gun anthem and danger zone so I had to fudge it at a certain point but it turned out well.

Tons of props, looks nice. Choreography is pretty sub par. the original that took the internet by storm 15 years ago has far superior choreography/programming. Sometimes less is more.

I absolutely adore this sound Carol of the Bells it’s the best ever I remember when TKMax covered it in one of their Christmas adverts about 2014 not quite sure of the year but it was their best advert even the Pringles Christmas advert was the best in that same year🎄⛄️🎄

My wife and I found your channel the same way. Amazing job! I'm relatively new into pixels and not very good at the programming side. Do you sell your sequences by chance? I'm interested if you have a website. Your color choices are great, we love the cohesiveness across your props, and your layering of effects are fantastic. We like your programming better than the ones we've seen for sale by the so called professionals. I tried responding yesterday but I guess messed something up. Sorry I've never posted a comment on youtube before this so i apologize if I'm duplicating this.
@@trindashepherd4150 All of my sequences are purchased from others. I am not a particularly good sequencer, but am really good a mapping them over. All of my videos should state who created the sequence. A pretty big chunk of them come from ShowStopper Sequences, but there are also some Pixel Perfect, RGB, Fairy Pixel Dust, and Visionary Light Shows in there. I also have several free ones from the xLights Around the World Project.

looks amazing! I have a question, how do you make the arch write the words out like that. I have a very similar arch and I use xlights. The model already has a submodel for the matrix part at the top but when I use the text effect it doesnt show or it uses one string, etc.
I have a group setup that contains the submodels "GE SpinArchy Elite/Matrix" from both Spin Archs. The actual effect is Text, XL Font 7-7x9 Thin, movement-left, speed 11, start position (-30), render style-Per Model Default. Based on what you're seeing, I would suspect is the render style or layer blending. It took me a while to find the right combination of settings to make it look correct.

@@scottcrawford4602 this was one of the free sequences available through the xlights Around the World project for 2023. Google their website and look for the 2023 project. The sequence I used was from Tamme Ghee.
The beginning was awesome. I dont get the music for a Christmas display being from Top Gun.
I keep a variety of Christmas and non-Christmas lights as part of the show. It started the year before when top gun came out. I wanted something fun to start the show. The first day it went live was also Veterans Day.
You should sell the sequence for this one! I would buy it for sure, it is the best Top Gun one out there!! Are large flashing Star images on the Mega tree a font that you using?
It’s a mashup of 3 sequences. 2 of them are available from vendors and the third is mine. Vacation intro and the actual Danger Zone song is from Bostick Family Lights. The top gun anthem in between is me. I mashed the 3 together into 1 long sequence so there is no jumps in the video.
Great synchronization of the Christmas lights with the music. Very eye catching even if not a traditional Christmas song. Thanks.

took a second too realize he had footage from both movies playing. was thinking did not remember an Su37 being in the first movie.
We actually have clips from both movies and another video the navy put out about carrier operations. Had to splice it all together so the credits didn’t appear in the scene.
