El maestro Jeong es lo máximo.
Thank for sharing Master Lee is the guy who taught both my instructor and his instructor here in ID I have heard stories thank you for preserving what video remains Tang Soo !!!!!
Encore :-)
Brian Berg killing it!
What was that? An exhibition?
Tang Soo! This is good martial arts.
David, where did you find all these Master Lee videos?
All Things Equal I was there and trained under him and ran his school since the late 70s
Great exhibition
Hello David.I'm Manuel Mech😃😃
Does anyone know the whereabouts of Grandmaster Jeong Sook Lee now
Hi April,Frozan, and Raffiella.
omg i just watched it sorry if i said the name wrong but i love your voice!!!
Hello it's April if ya remember my name
Please do more clips like this. I love this art form.
I love it. I returned to the martial arts six months ago at a local Tang Soo Do school. Thanks for the inspiration.
Do you have an E mail address for yahoo or A facebook account could I add you on either as a friend
TY David I will keep trying to find Sook for my husband. I wish I knew what his brother's name is. We went to his wedding in the 70's after Sook married his first wife Karen we kinda lost track of him. My husband hasn't really done anything in Karate in years. He was injured in a motorcycle accident in 1975. Almost lost his left leg. If you find anymore info on Sook please give me a call. Your friend Sue thanks again for trying to help
David I just found this again. Do you have anymore info on Jeong Sook Lee? My husband is ill and would like to reunite with his friend as well as his Master. Please let me know. My phone # is 217-897-0071. No my husband is to ill to practice karate anymore. TY Sue Grandy
Sorry Susan, No I haven't seen him.
Wow, thanks for posting these. I took classes for awhile from Master Lee when he would drive up from Pocatello to Idaho Falls. He moved out of state shortly afterwards, but I never lost my interest in martial arts. I will never forget one time he was teaching us some one-step moves, and I didn't quite hear what he was saying, so he started and moved in with a punch (as fast as he is, of course) and I had no idea he was going to do that. His fist stopped right on the skin of my cheek and he looked at me and said "You were supposed to move." I paid very close attention after that.
Where can I contact Master Lee?
Wow, thanks for the old school. :-D
Sure
what is the purpose of that?u
I studied Tang Soo Tao for nearly three years in Australia. This is very cool indeed.
I have posted the complete 1980 Demo and 1987 workout.
I understand the idea of full contact as part of the training but in this instance if master Lee had really hit any of these black belts he would have put them in the hospital. It is hard top understand the power and speed this guy had unless you have trained with him.
Hi Susan, My name is David and I posted the videos of GM J.S.Lee. The last time I saw him was in 2000 in Santa Monica Ca and now I think he's living in Lakewood Ca with his brother. He retired from teaching but was giving me private lessons for years and I ran a school for him in 1986, 87 in Hollywood Ca. If I see him I will pass on your message. Also does Jim still train in TSD. Take care, David
Sook I don't know if you remember me and my husband Jim from Green River Community College. He was one of your students and eventually an Assistant Instructor. We have looked for you for years. If you would like to contact us E-mail me at westvirginiamama2005@yahoo.com. We look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely Susan Grandy
Yo thats my cousin!!!!! :D , i think hes a sixth dan?
omegagamer0109 Your school and other Americanized ones are fairly "soft" these days. When I trained with Master Lee, Jeong Sook if you messed up he might whisper into Mr. Chang or Mr. Yasukochi's ear to give you a few good hits during free fight. In this video Master Lee barely touches anyone. He was so good and fast you can't believe it. It's a shame there aren't more vids of him. If you train no contact you must put lots of time on the heavy bag. cheers
D, Jump Spinning Heel Kick in the video no bending of the knee on the follow through. Jump Spinning Hook Kick same but knee bends to create a whip speeds heel at impact. I think video from Seattle gym we built in 70's (Lee's Institute of Martial Virtue) Funny I'm in video on left. I trained with Master Lee for 5 yrs in SB and Seattle while ill but had to quit. I remember Dae Kyu Jang was a good student at that time. I lost track of Master Lee after he moved to Idaho. More vid of JS Lee?
Breck Campbell, This video was filmed at San Jose Tang Soo Do in 1980. I know because I was there and I posted it. I also trained under GM J S Lee and ran his school in Hollywood ca. GM Lee retired from teaching. Unfortunately 3 of the Black belts in this video are no longer with us.
Hmm, I believe it was four, but I could be wrong. I've been training for 7 years and only just got my first degree, so I never had to consider that.
I absolutely agree. I compare it to a child learning the alphabet. From white belt to black is just learning your letters. Once you've received your black belt, now you can start to read and write and put words together.
5 years in the WTSDA. not 4
I've been considering learning Tang Soo Do, this has me convinced.
In the World Tang Soo Do Assoc. you have to train a minimum of four years first.
