So cool to see an interview about FND! I also have it. Functional imaging has shown that in people with FND there are inappropriate connections between different parts of the brain, including the bit that controls intense emotions and motor control. That’s why stress can sometimes trigger seizures, dystonia, or other neurological symptoms for some people with FND. Grounding, as Olivia described it, can therefore help stop or reduce symptoms if stress of some sort is causing them. Different people with FND have different triggers though. I’ve found that my biggest trigger is overexertion, and resting regularly is really important for managing my symptoms. Thanks for doing this! I’m subscribing 😊
