However, the rate at which middle-aged men need to be scanned today has to be all these terms, like sketch and cringe, to describe us. I'm feeling rejected in this Gen Z world. It's very ageist in language. Sad.

Why do you gen z keep changing words like lit which should just mean bright not fantastic. So guys I'm learning a lot with these videos that teach how to pronounce words in English! This is very important and I am a witness to this. Recently I was on an international dating app video chatting with an American Woman and I made a very serious mistake. Everything was going great until I told her I thought she was beautiful. The woman asked why I thought she was beautiful and I intended to tell her that ""you have beautiful eyes"" but instead I told her that ""you have beautiful ass"". She blocked me right away. I didn't understand why she did this and I only understood later why this happened. But ok. Thanks from Brazil 👍🏻

Hello Jess, thank you for your videos, they are very helpful. I am indeed practicing to improve my American English accent. I have a problem with pronunciation in a sentence where there is a word that ends with the letter 'S' followed immediately by words that begin with 'TH', such as: (Was that, Focus this, Is there, Is that). It’s so difficult to say the sentences smoothly without pausing when there is an S-ending word followed by a TH-beginning word, it always makes me stop briefly. Do you have any special tips for linking these two words? If you do, please let me know how to practice it. Thank you.

the T in water isn't pronounced like D in "der". The D you're advising to say is an alveolar stop (the tip of the tongue touches the roof of the mouth right behind the top teeth - the alveolar ridge - and then forcefully smacks down to the bottom of the mouth). The t in water is a retroflexed tap. We need to curl the tip of our tongue back, and then forcefully "slap" it forward. In the process, the tip of your tongue will briefly "tap" off the roof of your mouth, at the bottom of the "slope" right behind the alveolar ridge. Doing this automatically adds an r-adjacent sound to it, which is why so many people will hear an r. Speakers of rhetoric English (like in Canada) do this retroflexed tap whenever we see a t, d, tt, dd, rt, or rd in between two vowel sounds! Examples: Water Leader Bottle Ladder Shorter Ordinary
