I’m reading TOG for the first time right now and I’m on the tandem read. Personally, I don’t understand the hate that Chaol and TOD receives. Chaol made some mistakes (Chaol in QOS I’m talking about you), but his character is so fleshed out in TOD and I’m loving the story of his healing journey. So, I recommend the book if you like character-based stories and are curious to read more about Chaol’s story. But if not, then I don’t think you’re missing on much!

Throne of glass was way too overhyped for me. I feel like I wasted some of my life reading it. I really liked the first two books and Assasins blade, but then it dropped off from there for me. Although I will say I didnt mind Tower of Dawn (did the tandem read) and don't really get the hate on that one. Cant decide if I should read Crescent city or not, I do love a modern fantasy, but unsure after all the mixed reviews and I dont want to read it if its written like TOG (not enough dialogue, not enough happening)!

i feel the same way about throne of glass. the hype around it made it seem like it would change my life and it was just very average. dont feel pressured to like it, your feelings are so valid. Also i feel like many people only enjoyed some books out of the series rather than them all and a good series to me is all the books beings good

I have read most of these books so thought it would be fun to rate with you! 1. Divine Rivals (Roman & Iris are top tier sweet wholesome romance) 2. Serpent and The Wings of Night (such a good romantasy! 5 star book 1 and almost 5 for 2) 3. Fourth Wing (such a fast 5 star read and I was hooked. Iron Flame was just ok) 4. Powerless (Really enjoyed Powerless. Reckless was a huge let down) 5. Daughter of No Worlds (Carissa is a great romantasy writer. I've only read this one though) 6. ACOTAR (I really liked this one and acomaf, but DNFed acowar...) 7. TOG (Once again, loved the first half of series. But went down hill for me and didn't even bother with TOD and dnfed KOA. Don't come for me lol) 8. One Dark Window (soft dnf. I do want to try this one again) 9. CC (dnfed) 10. Caraval (dnfed) :) (have not read Spark or Dance of Thieves)

I love this podcast so much have a great 2025!!🎉🎉 The only thing that drives me slightly crazy is how often you guys are on your phones during episodes. Ive noticed it in the last few eps especially. Reggie is literally scrolling for the first 3 minutes barely engaging. Then shes on her phone pretty consistently the entire episode - makes it feel like the other two are having their own conversation and Reggie is half listening. And I get it, you've probably got your goodreads open and looking at it. But I just wish they were put away a tinnnyyy bit more as it drives me crazy when I'm in a conversation and someone is just looking at their phone. But I love you guys you're so sweet and love the podcast. Looking forward to the quicksilver episode! ❤❤

If you are wanting a fanfic more like manacled you have to read secrets and masks it’s extremely good, the auction is more lighter, at least to me, than manacled but it’s still incredible as well! Dramione fics are Just wow

I am also about to start The Auction fanfic! I read Manacled almost a year ago and nothing has lived up to it. I think its ruined all future reading experiences.

I actually think it’s more realistic to have few 5 star reads. I read 22 books this year and had two 5 stars. For me.. a 5 star is perfection.. no notes.. and changes you as a person. Not many books can do that! Loved seeing all 3 of y’alls top books of the year 😊
