Vivek Atray's Talk at ET TECHX Hyderabad on Visionary Academic Leadership
Vivek Atray, former IAS officer and TEDx Motivational Speaker was the keynote speaker at ET TECH X 2024, delivered an inspiring talk on visionary and dynamic academic leadership. He began by emphasizing that it is possible to be both dynamic and calm at the same time. Vivek Atray also highlighted the significance of spirituality in leadership, stating that those connected to spirituality understand the importance of winning the inner battles of life.
He stressed that leadership is essential in every field, particularly in academics, as academic leaders have the responsibility of shaping the future. "Our most important stakeholders, the youth," Vivek Atray said, "are the future of the world." He emphasized that education is not just about imparting knowledge but also about nurturing human beings, humanity, and the future.
Vivek Atray also addressed the sgnificant role of parents in shaping young minds, pointing out that many parents have not positioned themselves as role models for their children. Sharing an anecdote, he mentioned how children often aspire to become police officers, doctors, or engineers but rarely express a desire to be teachers. This, he explained, reflects society’s failure to encourage the next generation to value and pursue careers in education.
He also delved into the concept of happiness and goodwill, emphasizing that money, power, fame, and popularity are transient and cannot provide lasting inner happiness. Vivek Atray illustrated this with a touching story about a teacher who, after dedicating 35 years of his life to teaching, was recognized and honoured by a former student at a bus stand. The student’s wife shared how her husband often spoke of the teacher as his greatest inspiration.
Vivek Atray’s talk was a profound reminder of the impact of quality education, the importance of visionary academic leadership, and the pursuit of true happiness.

God bless Sh Sushil Kapoor Ji for 100 years more. He is my guide from my banking days to my singing days till now. Vivek Ji you were also a part of my one of singings shows..You were our chief guest in Tagore Theatre on the occasion of a tribute paid to MUKESH KI YAADEIN..I am thankful to you for highlighting Sushil Sir's achievements.🙏🏻
Sushil Kapoor is an institution. Thank you Vivek ji for highlighting his magnificent journey. He deserves the accolades ❤
A very wide-ranging...kaleidoscopic in a way, is Capt Sushil Kapoor's interview in the latest episode of The Good Vibes by Vivek Atray..Quite enlightening and informative, the Interview highlights the highs of the cricketing legends, like Kapil Dev, etc.,and the stark contrast in the value systems of yesteryears with the brazenly professional, self-centered, nearly selfish interests ruling the roost in the contemporary times..The people's unreasonable obsession with cricket to the, indifference, detriment and neglect of other games...have been the highlights of the Interview..The unequivocal respect and admiration of the players towards those who mentored, managed, and guided them, widely existing then, is ,sadly, missing or is only superficial.. All in all, a very engaging Interview.. Congrats to Mr. Vivek Atray and the guest personality...Capt Sushil Kapoor....J.R.Kundal, IAS(Retd.)

Parliamentary activism is the gap that Parliament has consistently failed to bridge, and over the years, judicial activism has increasingly become a matter of concern. It is worrying that the original, beneficial, and unexceptionable nature of the Court's activism in PIL has largely evolved into a general supervisory jurisdiction, aimed at correcting the actions and policies of government bodies and authorities. This form of judicial activism is unparalleled in any other judiciary. For instance, the Court has issued orders on matters such as the ban on black film on automobile windows, air and noise pollution, traffic regulations, parking charges, the wearing of helmets in cities, and cleanliness in housing colonies. These managerial interventions are often justified on the dubious basis of enforcing fundamental rights under Article 32 of the Constitution. In reality, no fundamental rights or significant legal issues are involved in such cases. In its most activist and controversial interpretation of the Constitution, the Supreme Court took away the constitutionally granted power of the President of India to appoint judges after consultation with the Chief Justice, and appropriated this power for the Chief Justice of India and a collegium of four judges. No other constitution in the world grants the power to select and appoint judges to the judiciary itself. The concept of constitutional morality has often been misunderstood in India. The judiciary is viewed as the ultimate savior of the Constitution, but this kind of faith is misplaced when compared to other parts of the world. The subjective determination that has become prevalent in the Indian judiciary is unprecedented and poses a risk of misuse.
Mind is not a law.
