What are you doing for a tune? Fk mental health. Unfortunately the system is backwards for mental health. I know first hand. Can't get help because i refuse to take their random meds after 7yrs of the wrong medication as it is. Is what it is guess.. love the channel ❤️
Could write paragraphs about this haha
Mate it took me a year from a wrecked vs ute. I got it registered 2 days ago and been enjoying the drive. Its still beat up and has some small issues but getting there. What you are doing in a short amount of time is tough. But it is great to watch. Electrical issues are no fun.
Lol the bane of my life ..cars fighting back when youre to help em haha..sign of a true whisperer overcoming the NO NO dont touch me there-of demon posesion
You are a disaster have a good look at yourself.
Run ya drivers side pipe around and under the chassis rail then a 90 up next to the battery/psteer reservoir. It's how the turbo giys do it, it's how my vn was done too ,plenty of room n clearance under the rails 👍
@@5lcalais1 the exhaust is the let down on this thing. Budget is gone.
Who's building engines? I haven't seen any yet although I've only found 5 channels doing so far. I know a few workshops are sort of half building engines out of parts they had laying around. Sucks yes but is what it is. But at the end of the day it's not serious and it's just for fun. I'm hopeful to get out there to spectate cause I'm keen to see what the v6 mirage will do lol Dude literary put a 380 in a mirage 😂 U should crack 12s relatively easy, chuck some 411s in it if u haven't already, also throw it on e85 if u can that'll help too 👌
How cool is that Mirage? Best build ever mate. Lets see if we make it mate, hopefully we can get this thing running
Top work mate. Finding the challengers is working on a Holden sure looks like its been driven by a true Holden Driver (i.e. don't know how to drive lol). Good luck on getting it finished.
My nephews would confirm this is the type of car grandpa drives.
Thanks
Oh wow thankyou so much.
The intercooler hose kits have gone up since 2022.
I have never actually brought one brand new.
Still bring it sunday if its running or not.
Fuck yeah mad progress ☝️☝️☝️
Thanks champ
keep going mate you can make it it the words of some fella from some movie "you can do it "
Thanks mate, we smashed out a massive day on it today. Nos is installed.
@@aussiecarbogan cant wait to see it mate
best of luck getting it there! would have to be my favourite 12s for 2k so far
Thankyou mate appreciate the support. There are some pretty cool builds happening though.
Cars are never easy mate never crack on you will get there
We have given it a massive crack tonight mate. All the NOS is nearly done.
@aussiecarbogan nice work could always spray the intercooler aswell to cool down iats even more
Loved the vid mate first watch i subscribed. Yeah!
Thanks mate, really appreciate it.
dont give up buddy you guys can do it
Is there any parts you need?
I think our biggest problem is a dodgy memcal. Someone has screwed up the tune in it. Originally we had dodgy wiring earthing injectors keeping them open. We have addressed that and now finding other issues.
@aussiecarbogan bugger! Can't dodgy up an old stand alone ecu like microtech? Usually only about 12 wires. 🤔
If you sit the light in you kitchen oven the lens will come off easily
Wow thats a bloody great idea 💡
Nice mate. Yes it’s not week to speak. It may just be a phone call to your loved ones. It could be a call to a mate. But keep calling everyone you know because everyone needs to know there is someone out there that will listen to you.
Absolutely mate, even though you might think your alone and people dont care. THEY DO
Epic, love ya work mate... very cool
Thanks mate, appreciate the support.
Wax and grease remover soaked in made getting the headlight lenses off easier. I've seen the coils mounted on the fan shroud
Ok mate thanks, as i daid never done that before. Wow ok I thought DFI module had to be earthed.
Gonna need a tune with that setup
Unfortunately we now have a corrupt memcal. Thats what is causing us all the grief
@aussiecarbogan oh noo thats sucks man. Memcals suck anyway real time tune it best for them. I'd rip the intercooler off. Leave it standard tune and just run nitro into system before maff.
@tripz2571 to late now mate we are committed with what we have. Lets see what can be done.
@@aussiecarbogan hell yeah send it brother. Keen to see it done. Even if you don't make it to to 12s 4 2k
@tripz2571 even if we don't make it to challenge day, we will still keep going.
I actually thought the 12s 2k was gonna be more cheap slap up. But the blokes with good sponsors pay f all for shit and end with 10s car for example. As foryourself and gs garage it looks like a 2k drag challenge. Gs garage has a mirage with 3.8 from a Mitsubishi 380.
The mirage is amazing, I absolutely love it. Massive respect for that build.
Nice work matey
Cheers champ, we are smashing into her right now.
I'm loving all these builds, I wouldn't stress about other peoples builds - there is always going to be people who "push" the rules to win - we live in a world where some blokes will claim to be a girl just to win a race !!! Just have fun building your build and racing your race. Loving your channel and attitude 👍
Wow mate, I have never really looked at it like that. You are 💯 spot on though. Wait to you see the next vid, things have got wild lol
Bloody oath
Government funding its not gona work 😂 disaster waiting to happen 😂

Awesome job, and you crack me up, Bogan central 😂, What a cool 😎 dude to do that for ya. You gotta love the Aussie car culture, Happy New Year 🎉🥳 brother, keep um coming 🍻 Cheers 🍻 🇦🇺🦘🏔🪃🤝🇦🇺🦘
Cheers Mate, thanks for the support. Happy New Year to you too champ.
@aussiecarbogan you're welcome and thankyou ☺️ 😊 🍻🍻🇦🇺🦘
why include the intercooler if you're running nitrous?
Bring the intake temp down before the NOS. I don't know how much NOS i will be spraying yet.
@aussiecarbogan no need. Even a 50 shot will be enough to significantly cool the charge. I wouldn't even run the intercooler in this challenge. Frees up a big sum
I had thought this too mate, but i would also like to do some passes without the NOS. See what times are possible with just the charger.
@aussiecarbogan nah. You won't. You'll feel the hit of the gas and only want more haha
@shredBucketheadshred 🤣🤣🤣 Im hearing this from everyone lol. She's only a little motor, she ain't going to like to much NOS.
Good on 'yer! Just do the challenge to the best of your ability, as you understand the restrictions, using the parts you choose from those you find available, and others will do the same, don't loose any sleep over the details. The main thing here is to have fun, and show what is possible with a limited budget.
Thanks mate we are trying our best. Cheers
👍😎
My turbo wagon got sponsored by covid payments & Afterpay. 😊
🤣🤣🤣 thats gold lol, at least someone has got something out of them.
I have just written off the builds that aren't at least trying to fit the theme. These are the interesting ones as they show a truly backyarder build.
Thankyou mate and thats how I interpreted the challenge. Please follow along as we try our best to make this happen.
I hope you win. All of the haters can suck it. You are out there making it happen and you don't have the resources of most of the other guys.
Hi Jason, its not at all about winning, I'm having great fun with this build. I am just trying to be honest and show a build others can replicate or close to for themselves. I can't wait to see all the different builds on Australia Day. Hopefully we make it.
@@aussiecarbogan I can't wait to see the results from all of your hard work.
Bet the haterz have nothing. Lol. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
10/10, A+, You go for "BRO". Not only will you get into the 12"s, But I hope you can prove to us all your way under budget & I hope there is a Trophy for your low-budget build, Cheers mate.
Thanks mate, love the support. I wont be way under budget but i think we may be ok. None of us want a trophy mate its all about being honest and having fun.
You look like 2000s era Russell Gilbert
Hope all the builds make heathcote on the 🇦🇺 day weekend.. definitely drive over for a suss! May even build something if it takes off
How cool is this, bloody amazing
The silicone hose for the intercooler will cause issues sucking in. The intercooler will be under vacuum when the throttle is closed and the hose will suck in and stall the engine. I experienced it first hand on silicone Joiners with too much gap between the pipe work.
Oh wow, not something I had thought of. How did you get around that issue?
@@aussiecarboganas much stainless steel as possible and no silicone bends. The bends suck in the most
Hey mate, I'm assuming your comment at 5:50 was directed at us and harris. I don't remember scotty saying all these builds have to be repeatable by the general population.. But even if he did, peoples talents vary. Some people can build 4 second race cars with their eyes closed. Some wouldn't know which end of a spanner to hold. Does that mean we should all stop because there are people that dont know how to open a bonnet? We got given a seized engine, and all we did was pull it apart, hone out the rusty bores (the crosshatching is trash btw lol), file the rings..with an actual hand file, clean it and reassemble with some valve springs. Anyone with youtube and some basic shed equipment can do that! At the end of the day, there are no trophies, gift baskets or sheep stations for the winner, its just about getting out there and having a go. Im not worried if some guys go over budget/cheat or whatever. This challenge got people off their butts, and into the shed. Kudos to everyone that has given this a go. That aside, im loving your build. Keep up the good work, hoping you make it to the Australia day meet.
My comment was not directed at any one person, I just felt the challenge was about showing the viewers and those at home how they could build a 12s for 2k. I certainly understand your build and have even commented on your vids. I love how far out of the box some of these builds are. Your right that some might not know how to even open a bonnet. A full engine build is going to be way out of the general publics capabilities. I get everyone is on different playing fields and has different knowledge and parts laying around. This was just my interpretation of the rule. I hope to see everyone there on Australia Day its going to be a blast.
Ur right with some these builds mate an what I thought were the rules to I'm in the same vote Im hoping I can get the build done in time bought my parts from eBay shipping being delayed 😂 an still a lot of work to do hopefully i make it Australia Day if i do I'll come say hi.
@@RobertScottSDAHey mate, I think time is against most of us here. I hope we all get a chance to catch up and have a chat with one another. Hope to see ya there.
Scotty didn't spell out the finner points of the 12' for $2k challenge as he was only really doing it for himself to have a little fun. Unfortunately, people have put their own interpretation on the challenge and missed the point . everything that goes in the car should be valued at today's retail prices, not what you paid for it decades ago. Mates rates , sponsorship, and in trade discounts shouldn't apply. I like your interpretation as it's true to the intent of the challenge. I'd like to see Scotty set up a small series, perhaps 4 or 5 rounds in a year , run as DYO for 12 to 12.99 second cars only. I think it would add a lot of interest to those of us on low budgets to go out and have a bit of fun. There's a lot of time and effort required to run a car that will only be competing in one event . There is no need for prizes or trophy's, you'd have bragging rights, though. 😊
@@craigritchie1933 love and appreciate the detailed response. From the start mate I thought it was intended that those at home, our followers/ viewers could copy or replicate what we are doing. They could jump on market place, ebay or even Temu and get the parts they need for the same money we are. Ok I would love to see a 2k series lol. DYO would be a great way to do it. However Scott is an extremely busy man so I think this stage might need more support or someone else to jump in. I have a great plan for my project afterwards if all goes to plan.
Good work fella ! Shocks are 100% safety
@@mx73toyota even a performance shock?
@aussiecarbogan if it makes the car safer ? I get it but they can help get the car to launch ect but the general vibe of the challenge is 2k on the engine mechanicals is the interpretation . I have a soft spot for the l67 can't wait to see how it goes !!!
@@mx73toyota I'm trying my best mate. Lets see what the little v6 can do.
I pretty much don’t care about the budget, I’m just enjoying the friendly banter amongst everyone 😉
@@biastv1234 yea thats cool, i understand that too.
Frick yeah. Little things make a big difference good work. ☝️☝️
Thanks mate, lets see
Q) Should you count the performance aspect of the shocks? A) No. They're shocks. Yes, I get it, these performance units will help you hook up to run the target time, but so what. The fact you mentioned what they are is good enough. Even as a Barra owner, I think this is fantastic to see the V6 in the mix. You're contradicting yourself when you advise you're in this for fun, but then being over critical on your own effort and build, as well as other channels. There are no police here. Every team and lad is keeping the audience informed with their prices. If a team makes it run a 12, and they spend $2400 in the end, it simply went over budget. There's no losers here. Your aim is to get the performance goodies on as close to $2K, and run a 12sec pass. Yeah, it is loose, but so what, it's a guideline. Who cares if you're in a garage, don't feel guilty. Some lads don't have an engine crane, a lift, or much else. Similar to what I said on another channel, environment, tools, experience, cheap parts, and above all knowledge - is simply to your advantage, make the most of it. Life is hard enough - take your own words, you're in it for the fun. Relax mate, we love this stuff. Take a breath, watch your health improve, and keep the momentum. Can't wait for the next update! Rock on.
Cheers Mate, Really appreciate your response. You are right, it is a bit of fun at the end of the day, but this is on the internet and in the public eye. We both know that this means people like to crucify you for anything they can. I just want to be seen to be very transparent and honest. Yes if i go over budget slightly so be it, I tried.
Great job mate 👍🇦🇺
Thankyou, lets hope it all comes together
