Jesus is the only way! On the one hand the speaker criticises naturalism and on the other tries to affirm Psychedelics importance by offering up his explanation before naturalism (see pt III)! II - "To make people feel secure in their epistemic estrangement" What if atheism is just a wish fulfilment of atheism and fallen man trying to sear his conscience of the knowledge of the judge, his creator, the plaintiff in his moral transgressions! So let me get this right. Priests and rabbis should not hand out ecstasy to whoever would like it "because it's dangerous" but we shouldn't judge those who just take it because they want to. We should _counter_ 'epistemic arrogance' but accept that it is 'necessary'. Eh? I think that this needs some more careful thinking through. On a more positive note, though, your thought that religion is (at least in part) about destroying rather than reinforcing our homely little securities seems spot on. Christ seemed to have agreed at any rate in his metaphorically bringing of a sword rather than peace to such cosy, domestic arrangements. Moreover, your obvious anger at scientism and reductionism seems well placed. I share that! It would be good to hear from you in further videos, though, and I am delighted to give you what seems to be your first 'like'. Whatever you make of my opening complaints, do not be downhearted. The subject is certainly one that needs more exploring and you give us a service in starting the ball rolling here. This should get more views.
