YFZ450R CHANGING COOLANT
มุมมอง 58K8 ปีที่แล้ว
flushed coolant system and changed to engine ice on my 09 yfz450r. Dont forget when you put everything back together pour some distilled water to flush the system. While pouring the water make sure the water pump bolt is unscrewed.

    Should I start my quad before I flush the coolant? Also do I need to take out the radiator if I switch coolants?

    • @pavelsandul631
      @pavelsandul631 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not required to start to drain coolant. I took it out only to get to reservoir tank and empty it

    Don't you have to take the upper bolt to do the air bleedout?

    • @pavelsandul631
      @pavelsandul631 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope I opened the radiator cap and started the quad. You'll see all the airbubbles coming out as it warms up and runs the coolant throughout the system

    After its wide open ....just pour 1 gal distilled water thru. Bolt up an use Yamaha coolant i recommend highly. It will keep that system happy! Hope ur running a good semi-syn 10w40 oil w/ k&n or Yamaha or twin air oil filters.

      I just use the Yamaha oil with oem filter and change it every 4-6 hours …. I run Engine ice coolant tho. Been thinking bout running synthetic but I figured since I change it so often prob don’t matter as much 🤷🏻‍♂️

    What was the purpose of removing the radiator? Wouldn't essentially filling with distilled, running and doing that a few times perform the same task?

    • @pavelsandul631
      @pavelsandul631 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      videoman223 Maybe but I took it off and got all of the antifreeze out by tilting the radiator on its side. Than poured distilled water and got all the water out the same way

    • @pavelsandul631
      @pavelsandul631 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      videoman223 it’s really easy to take off the radiator. 4 bolts, 2 hoses and a sensor plug, and I think that’s it

    • @pavelsandul631
      @pavelsandul631 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      videoman223 oh nevermind I just remembered why I took it off. It was to get the little white reserve tank out. My bad

    • @BlueSharkRides
      @BlueSharkRides 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah makes sense, so you can't get the reservoir off without taking the rad out? I'm planning on swapping to engine ice soon but want to make it as easy as possible haha.

    • @pavelsandul631
      @pavelsandul631 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      videoman223 yea unfortunately you need to take the rad off cuz the reservoir tank is in there pretty tight. But when you take it out, you could pour out the reset of the antifreeze in it

  • @krissabroff8672
    @krissabroff8672 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you flush your radiator and engine with water to remove the old antifreeze?

      Kris Sabroff yes of course. With distilled water. I just forgot to film that’s part sorry
