But when i searched the maximum capacity of the ideapad l340-15irh gaming it says the maximum is only 16gb in CMD. How come you upgrade the 16gb ram, what happens to the soldered 4gb? is it still usable?

My L340 says it has 2400 mhz ram.installed. I can put in 3200/2666 mhz?
You can put any mhz in it but since the l340 can only run 2400 mhz, system will only use 2400 mhz only.

L340 has 4GB soldered ram, so after installing 16GB, it should ideally show 20 GB at 3:18 , but why only 16GB is displayed

my laptop only has an M.2 and the 2.5" SSD slot is empty -- I just want to add a secondary drive for games and storage -- any tips? I think I need to order a cable for this though since I don't see a port or extra cable to connect the SSD I currently have

Yes you can. In laptop ram is ddr3l only but it will not always show.

If it has dvd drive replace it with SSD. Any sata SSD 2.5" will be ok. And search for hdd caddy. Place the SSD in the caddy and then install it in place of dvd drive.

My l340 does not have a SSD stick will it have SSD slot
If laptop does not have SSD from start it will not have nvme or m.2 slot. But you can replace HDD to SSD with SATA type

No there is no extra slot. I replaced the old one. So everything will be new. You will have to install windows too.

hi bro, awesome video. i just have one doubt, can u please clear. my laptop is ideapad l340, no ssd, only 1TB hdd. so my windows is currently installed in hdd. i want to add ssd(250gb) and install fresh windows in ssd (i have the product key of current windows that i have). Should i follow same steps in this video? or is there any step where i have to remove the hdd also? can u please tell me the steps.

If you are booting from hdd then this will feel like rocket. Boot time is in seconds and according to your description this is the perfect upgrade. I had upgraded my personal laptop from hdd to SSD (did not make a video) and it was the best upgrade. You will not regret

Higher is better as this is not dual channel

This does not work dual channel but will definitely increase performance if your ram is getting filled easily.
