K1Speed California State Championship
Qualified 7th out of 37 and moved through the field, but the officials got to decide the order in the end... Oh well. Another K1 event that goes to shame. As a lot of people at the event said "that's K1."
Hopefully next year they'll sort it out, with a better format & have some folks with racing steward backgrounds to decide things, so rules actually get followed!

Another eventful night at GP. January, which I won, I forgot to get a camera on my head. February I suffered the same fate, this time finishing at the back of the back. March, I messed up the camera placement, so I got mostly my feet in the shot, and it wasn't anything too crazy in the back of the pack, where I stayed all race. Here in April, we get a 4th place finish. Watch the full version he...

    I’m not sure exactly how that rule applies to this situation. It says “if a driver causes an unavoidable crash…. Etc” but the debate whether or not him or you caused the crash in a long one. Technically he’s in front and has right of way, it’s your responsibility to brake properly isn’t it? I’m obviously not an official or anything but that’s how I interpreted the rule you listed. What are the rules for brake checking? That’s what I would use to determine things like this because the rule establishes there has to be an at fault driver. How do you find who was at fault?

      I mean, regardless, at the end of the day, the biggest issue with the rules is the fact they moved him back up to 2nd. He never should've been moved up through the order, according to the rules, and that's my main point of grief. Staff told me I "caused it" so clearly they felt like I was the "at fault" driver, but idk. Who is "at fault" is a judgement call at the end of the day for them. No official rules for how they decide. It's a balls and strikes call. Racing for a shot at nationals, last lap, and he jams the brakes in a way he hadn't done for the previous 11 laps. Is what it is, but at the least, the rules state he shouldn't have gone to nationals either, so the fact he is going to nationals is ridiculous. Makes me wonder if the fact he's a Top 50 K1RS person (meaning he's a big spender at K1) has any influence...

      @@GeorgeTheKarter right that makes a lot more sense. It sucks he brake checked you. Karting in general is just a very leader advantaged sport. The carts are so wide and the tracks so narrow that passing reasonably, fairly and cleanly within just those 12 laps is ridiculous in my opinion. Get em next time bro 🙏

    My karts axel snapped because of someone who forgot the saying use ur brakes not my bumper. (He plowed into me and the whole race had to stop for one of the jr rounds) Btw I saw you racing 🙃

    god knows how many times i get side by side, mind you after the exit of the corner after they go wide not even dive bombing, and they just turn into me, spin out, and get the place back

    I mean you clearly threw it in there with the intention of using the guys in front of you as your brake. Can’t argue that when you have more than a karts length gap in front of you and the guys in front are clearly slowing down for the corner. I get the little taps and bumps here and there are just gonna be a result of indoor karting especially with everyone being so good, but that was a full on power shunt ass-packing of a divebomb

      Believe what you wanna believe. I know what my thoughts were going into it. I just didn’t expect him to jam the brakes so hard to hold the bottom. I was expecting him to push out more and I’d follow in closely, not absolutely jam the back of him.

      Your eyes must have been closed bro. Kart 17 had a dying kart and was absolutely panicking. This is K1 and the karts can't just accelerate around a slow moving kart like on a real track. Sure parking a kart in the apex may be a viable tactic to defend but be prepared for whoever is behind you to shove you forward because they have a faster kart. OP used the brakes and did not try to use #17 as a wall to slow down, OP did not dive bomb from the side, #17 did not spin out as a result and would have been able to fight for P3 or P4 on the next couple turns. Just because someone comes to a stop right in front of you whether it was intentional (absolute novice karter who brakes every turn) or accidental (over braking and spinning) and it results in a collision, it is not the person who was behinds fault for colliding. IMO this was handled poorly by the staff. These are grown ass men who can continue racing with a little bump, not some kids birthday party where they have to worry about a Karen threatening a chargeback on their party package.

      Re-watch the footage, dude held no pace with P1 and backed up traffic because all he have to do is hold position to get to national but look at P1 pace he is far gone from the pack.... Anyways back to the actually incident, P2 took a narrow nose dive into corner to prevent P3 from overtaking because of the faster line and jammed the brakes at the end because he overshot it which is when he got "bumped" out of the way. Lets not forget how OP got slightly less aggressive bump from previous overtake at the turn @4:08 "same stupid defensive driving line to push the faster driver out into a wider turn."

  • @Raceyvroomvroom
    @Raceyvroomvroom 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Idk why the employees are so insisted on no bumping. With these karts, these drivers, and this track, every pass is going to have some bumping. It's just a matter of how aggregious it is. On lap 6, you tapped somebody in the hairpin to make a pass, nothing crazy, but definitely bumping. Those last few laps everybody was doing it, and some of them were aggregious. 17 putting that guy in the wall? I feel like normally, your move into 1 in the last lap wouldn't be justified, but the way the race had played out so far, you've got some reason.

    I wanted to piece together a SuperCut, like swapping between many of the views from different drivers, however only was able to receive footage from Dennis Feng. If you participated in this race and have footage you could send to me, please reach out to do so! I'd love to still take a crack at piecing it together!

    Good vid. Kids these days growing up thinking they’re F1 drivers, “I have the line, *I can use up the whole track and put people who are legitimately beside me in the wall*”. Like please, that’s not racing
