Went out with my buddy again. We both had school the next day so we decided to make the most of the day we had left and go fishing. Pretty good day for the amount of time we were out there. Caught some more fish. I got on some frog fish here the evening before, but I had to adapt throughout the day to see what they would eat the best. Caught a lot and had a ton of fun! My first out of state turkey hunt in over 7 years went much better than expected. We hunted a few parts in Montana, but what you see in the video is Idaho. Beautiful country, great people, and lots of turkeys! I was able to kill 2 gobblers on the trip. One was a nice eastern and the other was my first longbearded merrium's turkey. Couldn't be happier with the outcome, and I look forward to hunt...

I have the same sticks. I stack mine on top of each other rather than side to side. I feel its quieter stacking and unstacking them. Also went with the Amsteel USA PRO. Lighter and quieter. Good vid.

Yes I forgot to mention it in the video. It is the trophy line covert pro saddle. I have the kit that comes with the accessories. Thanks for asking!
@Hooked-and-Loaded Thanks for the response, I did a little inspector gadget and actually was able to figure it out. I may have settled on that saddle, how do you like it?
@@donnieouellette6570 I really haven’t hunted a ton out of it, but so far I love it. If you want a cheaper saddle XOP makes good ones. A lot of companies make great saddles, so it’s hard to say if this trpphyline is the “best one”. But I am very pleased with it. It’s also a little less expensive than some of the other brands without sacrificing any quality.

As some may say, You should set your tether before stepping onto the platform in case then platform gives way while steeping out onto it. Some even climb using with a tether instead of lineman’s because it’s safer, just not as fast😊
That is a good point. I may have to try that when stepping in my platform. It may even save me some time!
does it depend on the type of fish?
Yes it does! I’ve not tried it on some but it works for sure on bass and I would venture to say it works on any other fish with similar anatomy like catfish. It is difficult with smaller fish like crappie, but with small enough pliers it can be done.

@@lnon4361 Ive never tried it 😂. I don’t do much saltwater fishing but I don’t see why it couldn’t work! It would be worth a try at least!

Had a few older gentleman tell me that it’s best to cut the line and the bass will practically regurgitate the hook after it swims around for a while
That can work. But you don’t get our hook back. I have seen fish swallow the hook completely and it has to make it through their digestive system. I think it’s best to go ahead and get it out if you can. But that doesn’t mean I’m right 😂.

Great video man. Look into stealth strips or hockey tape to quiet the metal down. Also if you put 2 sticks on each side of pack n the platform it should put weight closer to your body. Which in turn should make it easier going in n out and feel like it weighs less
I have some stealth strips on those sticks but I definitely need to get another roll ordered to put some more on them. That is a great idea too. I am definitely going to do some experimenting and see if I can’t get it to feel a little lighter, thanks!!!
Nice , thorough video. I use 2TC. If you like something much lighter, simpler, safer and quieter, consider looking into it.
