La messe de Requiem en ré mineur (KV 626), de Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composée en 1791, est une œuvre de la dernière année de la vie de Mozart, mais pas exactement la dernière œuvre du compositeur. Elle n'est de la main de Mozart que pour les deux tiers environ, la mort en ayant interrompu la composition. Elle reste néanmoins une de ses œuvres majeures et emblématiques.

This is because of the notes inégales. They are written as simple eighth notes but are meant to be executed in a more or less triple metre.

@@Lyre000I meant: in those days the enormous war crimes by the rulers were celebrated by magnificent music and nobody found this inappropriate apparently. Louis XIV was the worst of them all. Luckily he had Lully and De La Lande and many other talented people around to ameliorate his reputation.

@@Lyre000 Some time ago it was searched out that G F Händel had money invested in a shipping company that was Involved in the slave trade. Apparently here and there concerts with H's music were cancelled and subscribers threatened to stop their support if the orchestra played H.

I love this music with every fiber of my being. We call it the Klingon Te Deum because of the great force and power of the composition and the performance! Play it really LOUD in the car to sing along!. (Also picture majestic Klingons in robes singing it - Sardelli conducts exactly the way the Klingons would prefer, slower, majestic, exquisite, and with a baton )
