    There are many great ideas here. I would use a longer tube running to the ceiling to suck out the warm air. Hot air is a bigger problem where I live. I would keep the heater in the van, or better yet get a more compact diesel heater that taps directly into the fuel tank. Have a great day!

    • @natco7567

    • @natco7567
      @natco7567 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You could be right, not sure how I'd test which is better. The white van is nice because it gets lost in the crowd with normal builders/delivery vans. I'm not sold on stealth campers. Someone is more likely to try a break-in on a regular van than a camper because a camper most likely has someone inside. Plus, restrictions on parking are much the same on both van types here in the uk. That said, I like the space saving ideas 👌

    • @natco7567

    Regarding the floor-mounted ventilation fan, take care if using it while parked near other vehicles that may be running, such as a car park or truck stop. Sucking in vehicle exhaust fumes while sleeping is bad news, as one is unlikely to notice the danger. A CO2 alarm is a good idea.

      @@natco7567 It felt the same afterwards but i can tell you i am really impressed by the concept of your van. The only worry i'd have with the ventilator near the ground would be whether smells would come up through there or not. And i'd also wish for direct access to the driving cabin. Is there a particular reason you didn't add that? Also, maybe i missed that, but did you plan a shower and toilet solution? If i'd go down the route of camping buses i'd certainly favour a similar build that i can keep adapting and changing depending on my needs and that i can register as lorry for tax benefits. But i'd love to be able to take a shower and use the bin in some instances. Anyway, other than the music part, it's really nice of you to share your build, i really liked watching it all. Thank you!

      @natco7567 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jonabub Hey appreciate the discussion, and good to get the feedback on music for future improvement. Never had any issues with smells through the ventilator. I did contemplate access to the cabin but kept it as is for security/stealth and insulation. In the end it worked really well because I could use the cabin as a wet room and keep the back clean and dry. Definitely pros and cons to each option though. I did have a shower and toilet solution that I didn't include in the video. I made my own slimline toilet to save space but you could easily fit a cassette toilet or similar in the van. For showering I created a pump that could be dropped into the water containers with a pipe hook up on the rear door. Glad you liked the build!

I love that you thought about security and having a way to access the cab through the bulkhead if there was an emergency. Same with the backup latches for the sliding door. So clever. Ah yes, the shoe tree, famous throughout the mesozoic era. Interesting about the injury location, I was thinking it may be related to shock loading. Without a shoe the impact is in the ankle and lower leg but with a shoe (cushioned) that impact is negated a bit but then the upper body shocks the knee and knees are really flimsy. Not the best explanation but you can see where i'm coming from

    • @natco7567
      @natco7567 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha a mesozoic classic 😄 Yeh exactly. When you run barefoot the heel basically doesn't touch the ground which makes the foot into a lever arm from the ankle joint and the lower leg muscles have the resist the lever arm force to keep the heel off the ground. The heel strike of shod runners removes the lever arm.

      Hey Cathy! Yes sadly the research shows that we won't get any vitamin D even on a sunny day at this time of the year in the UK. Any sunlight vitamin D recommendation has to include a reference to sun intensity, as vitamin D changes as sun intensity changes, otherwise it's not much use. Best to supplement at this time of the year, and I'm sure you'll get plenty on the alotment during summer!
