I'm new to Carcassone, heard there was a bunch of expansions so I was just curious what they were and what people thought about em. Thanks for your opinion.

Last game i played i claimed 7 completed cities with only 1 meeple because everyone forgets it. I would have won anyways without the fields. And now nobody wants to play with me any more 😅

This video could have been cut in half if you didn't ramble so much and shuffle such a small deck for 30 seconds every time 😒

Fields are always forgotten when you play lol. It’s such a chore trying to explain them as well

In the case of this expansion I believe it works better than the Princess and the Dragon in a large megacarc. (I prefer P&D because of the portals and because I love the Dragon meeple)

I love what you do; your audio is good and your deep dive into carcassone is very valuable. But I would suggest you divide these videos in 3; the rules, the demo and the review (love your rating scale too), doing it that way will let you capture the attention of people that just want the review, people that need the rules explanation and the people that value the deep dive of the demo to see the interactions in context without stretching the attention of people that just want the bite sized content. Keep up the good work!

My wife will love the abbey, fixes her biggest pet peeve with the game.

I think it will be much better if you play thw watchtowers with the translucent meeples, to have the chance to put 2 meeples in the same tile on your turn. Will have a better chance to make more points.

It´s just a matter of applying the new orthogonal rule to the regular Monasteries😂😂. The designs are cool though

Why would you put a meeple on the lake tile?

I didn’t know you can bridge to nowhere- I thought they were useful in a tight spot to get features out, but I will try and remember this.

Any mistakes or was it a perfect tutorial? Seems like they changed a few things from the base game like warm up rounds and number of bystanders.

It’s a keep it simple for me and most importantly keep the available meeple number in a game with it low. You lose every single meeple on the feature that isn’t protected so if you place so many bc you have many then you lose many and for me personally in a 2 player match, it was VERY frustrating because I drew 90% of those tiles and always had some meeples unprotected because you’d not make as many points back as you’d have to invest to protect every single meeple when having 9-11 meeple. So I don’t recommend it in a 2 player game and I don’t recommend it played with many meeple. Edit: I recommend -> 4 player match with base game + peasant revolts, 7 meeple maximum (keep it strategic and simple)

Just played a round with this expansion and now I’m wondering if the watchtower can be scored multiple times (wagon/phantom/portal placement on other unoccupied road after finishing one side) I just went ahead with that and the wagon felt really good…too good almost.

This expansion/spinoff is one of the few things I did not buy yet, what do you think about it currently? Worth it or leave it?

The different field segments of those tiles seem weird and not really logical to me at first glance

14:19 is it really allowed to place a meeple + take the abbot out in the same turn? Thought that’s only possible when using the phantom as a meeple placement.

In my copy it says that you should put smaller cards at the bottom but I don’t think that changes anything. Thank you for the explanation, very thorough and clear! 🙂👍🏻

You totaly messed up. Entering tokyo city gains you 1VP staying until you get your next turn earns you 2VP. So player one should have one

Do you think you’d attempt a playthrough with all expansions in play? No one seems to have posted that. I have them all except count and robber and catapult. All minis more or less. It would be great to see that

Essential, agreed. It’s only 6 tiles, easy to add to the game, makes roads more important and keeps it simple.

Interesting opinion on the tower expansion, it sucks to have dead zones on the board... So if you play that expansion with the Princess and the dragon, the dead zones might not be a problem, right? Because you have the portals to go anywhere....

This is an interesting idea of an expansion tho it always saddens me to see expansions being the starting tiles because that means that the other starting tile replacing expansions can’t be played combined with it. Seems like a pretty great deal for a mini expansion tho (adding some refreshing gameplay to it while keeping it simple) Btw still going trough your whole Carcassonne playlist and throughout this week I bought myself major expansions 3, 5, phantom, big box v3.0 and the 20 year anniversary edition which I’m loving a lot (the design is gorgeous) I’m blaming you for all those purchases lol PS: greetings from Germany, as a German, I am very much not offended by your mispronunciation of Leipzig 😂 keep it up!

Per the publisher's FAQ, upgraded buildings count as the lower versions for prerequisite purposes (your Quarry / Lumber Mill vs Lumber Yard quandry).

Just like your other Carcassonne expansions ranking video and even more so here, it was very informative for me and easy to understand which expansions are worth it and which aren’t. I know that this isn’t your most recent video, I just want to let out a few nice words. I recently stumbled upon your channel while trying to inform myself about all the Carcassonne expansions. I found this video and immediately got a good start for which expansion to look into. Very informative video, you’re a really talented person when it comes to explaining and sharing thoughts. I have not been new to Carcassonne but only knew about the first edition and its first 2 expansions before. You opened up my eyes for a whole new world of this beautiful game. I’ve been going through all your content regarding this game, your tutorials are just absolutely amazing. I also liked the 1 hour gameplay sessions after the informative tutorials. I liked it so much even, that I watched the videos of expansions I already knew everything about too. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your hard work and passion for this game. We have a Carcassonne Big Box that has gotten so much use and great replay ability. Probably our most played game. I understand there are differed Big Box combos. The one we have includes the Wheel of Fortune expansion. It’s fun with a high player count and the Big Box version we have includes extra Meeples sets for more players! Separately, we’ve gotten a few other expansion sets too, like The Big Top. I thought I was done with expansion sets but will strongly consider Mists over Carcassonne.
