Great speaker, right to the point! Thank you for sharing. I've recently had difficulties and pain while swallowing, I'm going to get checked out. I'm glad that this man seems to be alright.

Thank you Mrs. Graystone for the surgery that you performed on me. You're simply the BEST. God Bless you for all the love and care you provide for your patients. ❤

I would have loved to have learned more from Kate. What stage was she? What was her treatment? How did she tolerate her treatment? How is her life now? I'm recently diagnosed with Stage 3 and will be starting chemoradiation followed by surgery. It's inspiring to hear stories from survivors, since this is a difficult cancer. Thank you, Katie for sharing. And so happy you are well these days.

My case was similar to yours, my tumor was at the GE junction. This was 2019, I had chemo, radiation followed by esophagectomy. The chemo/ radiation was difficult, almost as bad as recovery from surgery. After surgery I got fluid on lining of left lung and was in hospital 3 weeks. Learning to eat small portions is difficult but you will get through it.

@@t.wil.9646 thanks for your reply. i just finished 12 weeks of treatment last week - 8 rounds of chemo and 28 radiation treatments. I'm only a week out from the radiation, but it's been tough sledding - most challenges with fatigue, appetite and just being able to eat (though no difficulty swallowing). So I'm weak and have lost almost 20 pounds throughout the process. Doctors said the radiation recovery should take a week or two, so I'm hoping that's the case. Will have my surgery in about six to eight weeks.

I had tongue cancer in 2010 and esophageal cancer on 2016. Radiation and chemo. The chemo was the wrecking ball and doesn't add that much to the outcome. Raises creatine levels too much and they don't go back down! That's why I quit the last 2 treatments for the 2nd cancer. I had food stick in my throat for a long time that wouldn't go down or up for 5-8 minutes and it hurt. This was the warning signs years before. Swollen lymph node appeared over night and that led to serious treatment immediately. I had stage 2Bc T2N1 in upper 1/3 throat. Many dilation in succeeding years. Tongue cancer was stage 4. Lucky to have survived that one. Also had kidney cancer at the same time and had one removed . That was hidden from me until a new DR. let it slip out because if they couldn't cure the tongue then it wouldn't make any difference!
