We had 12 teams. If they wanted to cut a few teams, they should have dropped it to 10. In the WBC, our pools have 5 teams per pool, and 2 winners per pool. They should do the same thing in the qualifying rounds. To get to the qualifying tournament, the 4 teams that finished last in their pools in the past WBC automatically qualify and the 4 other teams that didnt make it to the WBC but finished third and fourth in their qualifying pool come back, and 2 new teams that get invited to qualify. At least, thats how I would do the qualifying rounds. Im surprised they left Curacao and Aruba out. Some people seem to think they should play with the Netherlands. However, I heard both islands were supposed to start playing on their own, and I know there are a lot of good players on both of those islands. Since I also heard that they are going to allow MLB players to play in the qualifiers, that meant Curacao and Aruba would likely put up a good fight and probably even get to the WBC in 2026.

This whole setup is total bullshit. Leaving out all the other countries from before, not letting any new ones in, the format and Tucson instead of Barranquilla!

I am in Phoenix and if the Tucson report is true I will have to def go

I found it surprising that they didnt move anyone from the Asian Pool. I know as a Canadian, Im glad to see them play a few new teams. I wouldnt quite call that pool misfits. If anything, its the balanced pool. Sure Puerto Rico and Cuba are easy to pick as the pool winners, but I know Canada and Panama can cause an upset victory, and itll likely be Curacao or Colombia as the qualifying team, and I know both of those teams can pull off an upset victory too. Canada may not have had that much luck in getting to the second round in the WBC per se, but they arent facing the United States or Mexico this time around. Canada's problem is mostly that they dont have the depth. One player wont or cant play and theres no one good to replace them (so a AA player steps in). Many Canadian players have injury histories and were absent from the WBC for that reason (to be fair, the US has this problem too). All our batting lineup needs is for everyone to return (most players were in the minors or just starting to get into the MLB or are getting close to the MLB) and then add Josh Naylor. We need our pitchers. Adding Jameson Taillon and Nick Pivetta to the roster alone would give us somewhat of a chance to get to the next round. I doubt James Paxton and Michael Soroka will be allowed to play due to their extensive injury histories, but theyd make us dangerous too.

That west coast trip stunted a big run we could’ve went on but honestly we just took 2/3 from the O’s and kids like Vientos, Taylor and Alvarez mixed w Alonso Lindor and JT Martinez is gonna be a PROBLEM for teams heading into September. I know you said you didn't find your friend group till September or October, but I am currently a freshman in my first week of college and haven't been able to really find a group of friends. Do you think people are still willing to create new friend groups when it seems like most people already have their own?

Yeah, I don’t like they change this! Not at all, specially if you’re buying the cards with your own money, I understand why would you do that but I’m sure some people do and then you can’t use them outside of the wildcards past a certain time frame? So stupid

I noticed in some of your responses to the mariners being the worst (in the comments section) you said the mariners at least try to win and I would like to know, where? The only thing mariner ownership does is try to keep people coming to the ballpark. A perfect season for mariner ownership is the mariners getting bounced out of playoff contention the last week (or last game) of every year. keeps the stadium full, keeps the $18 beer sales up. that's all that matters. They could care less about winning any titles. the mariners are the bottom of the barrel.
