How dare you? The Japanese would not make a live action so the Cantonese decided to do it. This movie satisfied us Initially D fans yearning for a live action which no one did other than these people. Some characters and plots may be missing, but think about productions costs and the facts that the touge is Japanese grounds. Additional costs.. At least we have substantial enough characters. It makes the movie flow easily and simple. Little bit of thrown romance, companionship, and mainly about cars + drifting.
Imagine if anyone else did it, would you think we would get the same type of cinematography that this live action offered? Which might I say perfectly matched the vibe of initial D?

唯一気に食わんのが日本の漫画やのに、台湾人の監督が作ってるのが、気に食わん、憎たらしいほど、絶妙に拓海も涼介も中里もにてるのがまた憎たらしい、なつきだけ日本人なんが意味不、次作る機会があるなら完全に日本人の監督で、俳優も日本人のみ起用してほしいそのくせ、ドリフトシーンは土屋が携わったり、啓介が出てこんのも分からん
