    Having manipulative and narcissistic traits is very common. It's okay. I landed into a situationship with a guy who turned out to be a manipulator, my friends tried to open my eyes up but they couldn't. He was avoidant too. He triggered my anxious side and I couldn't trust him. He sometimes made me feel guilty or judged me or had words to make me feel unworthy. But these were sometimes very subtle I just felt worse and worse with him but i could not cut out the guy I tried to leave him by some manipulative tactics, i am not proud of this. He never loved me or wanted to date me seriously but he used me, he everytime came back when we split up. In my pain I gave him ultimatums a few time, I never expected I can get something with ultimatums, i just wanted to make him admit he can't do this and that. So i can leave him finally. Sometimes shit happens, but it is not okay to manipulate others when it will surely hurt the other person.

    A worker at my job is "secretly" mad at me. And I don't even know what I did. We work at this catering company in our university, and I'm a student supervisor. For a while, things were fine. If I said "How are you doing?" he'd answer and ask back how I am. Not anymore. He would say "fine" or "all right" in a negative tone of voice. He doesn't even say hi to me. When I greet him, he just says "John" in an unfriendly tone of voice. I have no idea what could've caused this. I'd ask him, but you know, it might seem shallow for me to not get it and require an explanation. Besides, it's a little awkward acknowledging the tension from someone. You don't ask a person you know, "Why don't you like me?" This is somewhat the same thing.

    • @sofiakiwi1997
      @sofiakiwi1997 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @johnrainsman6650 Thank you for your comment!🌞 Tension in the workplace and with a specific colleague is unpleasant. Usually you spend a lot of time together that's why it's important to deal with it as soon as you regognize something isn't right. Clearly you are affected by your colleagues behaviour so trying to ignore it would only make you waste more energy on overthinking. I don't know how often you work together or if you have other collegues. Then I would try to talk to them as well. Ask them how they percieve this guy. Maybe he treats everyone like this. In the end the only way to get some clarification is to confront this guy. Of course you shouldn't ask him ''Why don't you like me?''. This phrase points at you seeking his approval. Which you might never fully get and you don't need it. It's important to understand that there will always be people that like us but also those that for some reason don't. My advice would be to try and talk to him. You don't have to be buddies but it's good to find out what this is about. Keep me updated on what you decide to do or if the situation changes somehow .Take care 🌺

      Well, I talked to the guy (let's call him Tom), and he explained why he's mad at me. I was on a hypnotist show about a week ago, and he was in the audience. It turns out, I said some beIittIing things about him. The hypnotist asked me to share a complex philosophy I have, and I said that hard work doesn't always make people smart or noble. And I used Tom as an example. See, I talked about how he was a slow learner. How he went to a small charter school and not the local public high school. How he graduated at 20, not 18. How he didn't have a driver's license, still lived with his mom at 28, and seemed incompetent to do things by himself at work. I told the hypnotist that some people are smart and hardworking and thus become successful; some are smart but lazy and thus don't manage what they _could_ (like getting good grades). That some people are hardworking but not smart, like Tom. Oh, he's a very hard worker, both at catering and school. He actually graduated at our college in 2021. He stuck around at work while finding his career. Thing is though, he hasn't found it, and I concluded he wouldn't. That catering was best for an unskilled guy like him. Tom reveals I said that onstage. I figured pretty much anyone could graduate at college, because if you just work hard, you can pass your classes and eventually get a degree. Didn't mean I thought Tom was _smart_ though. Just hardworking. Apparently I said Tom's only strengths were his choices--dedication and effort. Said the rest of the crew here were much better than him and had more brains. I said the words "incompetent" and "inferior" matched Tom. After he explained everything I said, I told him I would never _willingly_ say this stuff, let alone to hurt him, and that I was merely in a trance. But he said it didn't matter, because I still thought little of him. That I thought he was "practically a Ioser, with only his diligience going for him, no natural skills," quote me onstage. Tom's switching over to this cafe on campus. He doesn't feel comfortable working with someone who doesn't respect or believe in him. He's not mad at me for what I _said._ He's mad at me for what I _think,_ no matter the lack of intention. And you know what? He's right. I do think he's less/lesser. I do think students/graduates from his old school are inferior to the ones from the bigger school. I do think students with learning disabilities and/or in Special Ed are intellectually below. I do think it's "just wrong" that Tom graduated from college three years ago and still hasn't gotten his career, that he still lives with his mom. And I can't simply change the perspective; it's *_automatically_* in me, glued inside. It's like you don't specifically know why you're more attractive to blondes than brunettes, you just are...or why you like one movie series more than another, you just do. *_Automatically._* I don't like this about myself. Tom said it's possible to be an asshoIe and disrespectful in private, and I see what he means.

      @@johnrainsman6650 Hi John! Thank you for the update. It’s good that you talked to Tom. Now you know the reason why he is acting this way. I don’t know if you said Toms name or if you just mentioned so many details that he figured out you were talking about him. Also I am wondering if this hypnotist show was organized in the university or if it didn't have any connection to it? The reason I think about it is if you could suspect that Tom would be in the audience, in that case giving him as an example was playing with fire. Otherwise it was an unfortunate coincidence. Also when it comes to speaking about something in public you have to be very careful with what you say. Especially nowadays when the majority of people have mobile phones and can record an audio or video of certain moments. Even if you don’t mean to hurt anyone it could still be perceived as a violation. It’s true that as you said that some people are smart and hardworking and thus become successful; some are smart but lazy and thus don't manage what they could (like getting good grades). I think that you should have talked more in general or tried to be short with it. Giving many details and potentially mentioning Tom’s name (I don’t know if this happened or not) was crossing the line from giving an example to a personal insult. The thing is, all people have a right to have their own opinion but it matters WHAT you say and HOW you say it. It’s also important to remember that you never know what someone is going through, what battles they fight and what sacrifices they have made. You say you were merely in a trance but hey, to me it sounded like you were very specific about describing Tom as ‘’incompetent’’ and ‘’inferior’’. Tom seems like a nice person and hopefully he won’t hold a grudge against you. This is a lesson for you to be more careful with what you say. If you had been talking to a trusted friend in this situation it would be one thing. Discussing this publicly and speaking in detail was what became the problem here. Finally, it was good that you brought this up. Because if you didn't realize this was hurtful for Tom, now you know it. If you haven’t apologized yet you should do that. If you have, great! I suggest you move on and keep this situation in mind. Try to be more thoughtful of others' feelings in the future and remember that you don’t have to suppress your opinion just make sure it doesn’t sound like an insult. I wish you a nice day. Take care🌞 🌺

      @@sofiakiwi1997 Wait, hold on, I'm totally confused. You wrote _"You say you were merely in a trance, but hey, to me, it sounded like you were very specific about describing Tom as incompetent and inferior."_ I don't see your point. Are you suggesting I wasn't in a trance? Because I truly was. And Yeah, I said this very specific stuff in the trance, to describe my complex philosophy, with Tom as the main subject. This isn't about filter or tact; that would imply free-will. It was hypnotic control. I can't be careful with what I say under hypnosis, if that's what you were suggesting. If I'd have known what I was gonna say, I wouldn't have gone up on that stage (which was indeed at the school, yeah). Tom said I used his name (which isn't *actually* "Tom", remember) and recalled my words in my trance. He wouldn't make any of this up. You ever told someone, "Read my mind"? Well, everything Tom claimed I said...well, it IS what I think. Again, "read my mind." That's enough evidence. And I _know_ his anger is genuine. What do you mean by I should've talked more in general or tried to be short with it? How was I crossing the line? Do you mean when I was on that stage? Again, it was hypnosis and I spoke my mind (complex philosophy) in a self-uncontrollable trance. Hypnotists can make you say what's on your mind; they have the control. Of course I apologized to Tom. But Tom knows it doesn't change the way I feel about him. He said, "John, I can't work with someone who doesn't respect me. There is a _difference_ between respecting and appreciating people. You appreciate my hard work, but you don't respect my skills or brains, because you don't think I have them. You think I _just_ have my diligence as a strength. You think I'm Mr. _'Gee...I don't get it.'_ You think I'm weak, or at the very least, weaker than the people around me. I won't tolerate that view." And like I said, Sofia, I do think that, honestly. I always treated him with respect, sure...but on the inside, I have none for him. It's contradictory: I appreciate him, but I don't respect him. And I can't change it on command/by free will. Like I said, the view/feelings are automatically glued inside of me.

      @mamun3192 Hi! Thank you for being so open and leaving a comment 😊 You should absolutely NOT destroy yourself!! Everything you describe in your comment I felt too when I dated a narcissist. It’s what they do. The best thing would of course be to keep as much distance as possible to your girlfriend. If you are still in a relationship and feel like you can’t or don’t want to end it for some reason you should learn to protect yourself. I want to remind you that everything bad you have ever heard from her isn’t true. Narcissists always focus on your shortcomings and are experts at finding new flaws that are probably very insignificant or weren't a flaw to begin with but the narc made it into your flaw. Try to imagine you have this shield in front of you everytime you hear negative comments or mean words. In the tug of war the narcissist will always win so don’t try to fix her as you said. You are right about the fact that it will be a waste of energy. Remind yourself that the problem isn’t you. I decided to leave two links to videos here on my channel that you might find helpful. Hi Sofia! Hi, it's me Slick Perspective, my old YT account! For some reason, I have been commenting on your channel the last 4 days ago but somehow all my comments became not visible to you. Anyway, thanks for subscribing to my channel Slick Perspective! 😅 I don't know what is wrong with my main account, I may contact YT administrator about it. Oh ya, I have sent you an email about the matter too. Thanks, take care Sofia and have a good weekend 😊
