Everybody's Business 1917 - Reel 1 of 2 Another early 35mm film, in quite good condition. The interesing thing about this film is that the titles are all spliced in this copy. I realise that there had to be a joint where the film base colour changed, but all the titles ! Any comments. Perhaps this was a cutting copy ? Bingoscope 35mm - Alice in Wonderland 1933 Trailer clip
มุมมอง 8K13 ปีที่แล้ว
Another BingoScope 35mm short film. This appears to be from Alice in Wonderland 1933. The BingoScope was a silent toy projector. Presumably the Bing company bought up old reels of film and chopped them into short films. This time a sound film. It is thought that this is a short section of the original trailer for this film.
Bingoscope 35mm Silent Film 2 - unknown title

Another 35mm very old silent film which came with a Bingoscope toy projector. I have no information about it - I hope someone can tell me something. There seems to be some hypnotic stares from one of the men.

Odeon Uxbridge 50"s early 60's. Very noisy with booing, hissing, screams ans ice cream papers flying around!! Only went a few times with older cousins. They were supposed to look after me. Haha

A couple of radio shows have managed to survive of Carroll Gibbons & band with Anne Lenner as singer, sponsored by "William P. Hartley's famous Marmalade". They are excellent recordings and worth listening to. Those recordings are from 1934, and this film looks older than that.

I remember taking my younger brothers there every Saturday morning. Get the bus into town, run through Woolworths to fill pockets with stolen sweets and then into the Odeon. It wouldn't really work now, because I was only eleven and the others were nine and six! Nowadays kids would be dropped off and picked up by parents in a 4x4. Half of them would probably want to go in! We used to go to the swimming baths unaccompanied three times a week as well and bunk off Sunday school to go on bike rides. I feel sorry for kids today.

Same, exactly the same for me, I could have written this myself. I clearly remember the call out for anyone who had a birthday to come onto the stage as everyone sang happy birthday. Then Livingstone baths, and the long walk home cause we'd spent the bus fare.

There seems to be no examples of Gerald du Maurier's acting in talkies on TH-cam - -but he did make them, including 'Escape!' in 1930.

Still no more film of Gerald du Maurier on TH-cam eight years on. Very sad to recollect that in 1917 Gerald du Maurier's older brother Guy and his nephew George Llewelyn-Davies had both been killed in the war about two year's earlier.
