The office of the Disability Services Commissioner (DSC) is an independent agency that helps resolve complaints in Victoria. DSC can help with enquiries and complaints about disability services delivered by registered disability service providers under the Disability Act 2006 that are:
- Funded or contracted by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH)
- Funded by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).
- Funded or contracted by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH)
- Funded by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).
CATCHING THINGS EARLY
This video contains real life examples of why little things can make a huge difference to someone else, and the importance of creating space for people to feel comfortable to speak up if something isn't right. It was developed as part of the Disability Services Commissioner Building Safe and Respectful Cultures project

A unfortunately a much too common challenged faced by people with disabilities, their families and supporters. Thank you Jane, Nick and Michelle and the ODSC Victoria for putting this together. This should be viewed by all support staff and families who have love ones living in residential settings. Oh such a valuable guide for all those involved. At QCIDD which is part of the the University of Queensland we are developing three Massive Open Online Courses via UQx and www.edx.org These courses will focus on the lives and health of people with intellectual disability and will like to link to this wonderful insightful video.
Thanks Jane for so genuinely and honestly sharing your family's story. It's so important.
