Today we take a break from the LT70 videos to cut wood shingles with the Woodmizer LT35 and the RS2 resaw attachment. Come along as we show you the process of make wooden shingles on the sawmill.

WOODMIZER LT35 Can we get 1,000 Board feet before lunch? Come along as we try to finish up a lumber order. We finished the framing for a 20x20 barn order the night before. Now we are cutting a 1,000 board foot of siding lumber to finish the order.

I'm presuming this is a unit you bought from Wood- Mizer, how thick are your boards before sawing them into shingles? Can you also do lap siding with some modifications.Thank you for sharing a very interesting video.
This is the wood mizer rs2 resaw attachment. Boards are an inch thick before going thru the saw. Attachment came with 2 belts one for lapsiding and resawing and the other for shingles.
Genius! I haven't been able to figure out how to do that.

Glad I found this video but I'm torn...I need a grapple of some type and the main purpose would be to load larger logs from a tree services log yard into my dump trailer but we're a landscape company as well and never know when we might need a traditional grapple and in this video a root grapple would have been a lot faster. On the flip side, in the 20 years we've been in business and owned a skid steer no one has ever called to have an estimate for moving brush. I'm leaning towards the Frostbite for a few reasons...much lighter than a traditional grapple, a lot cheaper and lastly, it's made for what I'd be using it for 95% of the time.
I move logs mostly the frostbite is good for that. My brother in law has a root rake brush grapple it does good on brush but not too good on logs where it has two top clamps.

Thanks for sharing!!! With a video like this, where you're milling some beautiful figured wood, take a moment to include a clip where you dust off the wood and toss some water on it to bring out the beautiful grain.
