I remember how amazingly JKR wrote that scence in the book: “Tom Riddle hit the floor with a mundane finality, his body feeble and shrunken, the white hands empty, the snakelike face vacant and unknowing. Voldemort was dead, killed by his own rebounding curse, and Harry stood with two wands in his hand, staring down at his enemy's shell." And then David Yates was like: “i’d rather have him be confetti…” WHY?!

Honestly, both Book and Movie have appropriate endings for him. In the book he was just what he always tried not to be. In the movies, you needed some effect. Imagine 10+ years of action, only for him to drop on the ground. People would be disappointed. They are movies, so they have to be visually appealing

I think I was so disappointed with the lack of continuity in the last 2 movies. The spells look weird and as if they are not "plastic", the spells in the 4th and 5th movie were actually doing a lot of damage. There is humor in very tense situation that doesnt make it seem like the situations are actually life threatening (e.g. when Wormtail gets eliminated by Dobby - what the hell, the scene in the book was almost gut wrenching and added to Wormtail's character or Ron is just a clumsy idiot in the last movies, he becomes a f*ing war hero in the books who is standing up against Voldemort when Harry is already dead). The way Bellatrix and Voldemort die is just insane to me - they are (aside from being wizards) very ordinary people and they should die like ordinary people. There unnatural death again made them look like unreal monsters. And what the hell is Bellatrix doing during the battle of Hogwarts, she is walking and giggling like a clown, not like a dangerous fanatic witch that lost her mind in Azkaban. Some people say that in a fantasy universe, anything is possible but to make it seem like a reality it should have a continuity. Best example is House of the Dragon, they did so well!

Lucas FUNDAMENTALLY changed the film. I have the original film, which is a copy from a laser disc. Lucas has absolutely no appreciation for the original intent of the story lines because either he's lost his mind and forgot what the story was about, or has no respect for the original story and the OTHER people who helped create it. He always fundamentally changes the story. I hate him him now. Let all his new crap burn.

I think they made the death less scary for little kid. I know deathly hallow not exactly child story, but many ppl still consider hp is for kid.

I liked the film version better because it drew it out longer, therefore adding more emotion. The woman vocalizing in the background definitely made it more emotional. When I read the novel for the first time after seeing the film, I was very disappointed. It felt like it happened too quickly.

Of course I prefer book version but I like that the movie implies that he's barely hanging on without the Horcruxes which is why he turns to ash. I think after Nagini's death they could've shown Voldy starting to slowly deteriorate, meaning he needs a new Horcrux and fast if he's to survive.
