At around 6:12 you said that you're giving the plastic properties as input. What if I don't know the plastic properties beforehand? How is it going to affect my results? At times I would want to estimate the failure and inelastic properties of the material I wish to simulate for which, prior knowledge of these values might not be available (not even in literature at times).
It is essential to provide the constitutive model of the material we are analysing. Suppose if we are doing an elastic analysis we must provide the elastic properties of the material ( in turn we are providing the elastic constitutive law (Hooks law). If we intend to perform non linear analysis of a material, we need material constitutive model (could be anything elastic, plastic, viscoelastic, thermoplastic etc, depending on the material and action). These models or the properties may be given in the literature or we may have to do experimental testing to calibrate those models.

If we alreaady defined the Poisson's ratio while creating our material, why do we need to specify it again while creating the section?
