Try going north and you’ll be more successful, I scuba dive and spearfish that area when possible. Also when lobster season is open, can get lucky as well.

Dude I have a friend, we went there together in 2018. We dove on separate jetties so I wasn’t with him but when I got back to the car, he was there along with two popo. Ticketed the sh*x out of us lol, can’t believe he took an abalone wtf?!? Cost him 60k no joke.
Man expensive mistake! What was he thinking? 60k is a nice boat 🚢
@@outdoortherapyOC it was crazy stupid, if I ever see you I'll tell you the whole story lol. other than that, I don't really like those jetties, it's extremely murky there. I get limits close to season opener, but much harder later on. But my favorite part is that there are big southern kelp crabs there, I can usually find one or two, and they're tasty. Probably firmest meat of any crab.

I love Cabrillo for beginners spearing, but there are NO lobster there lol. I'm also a (ex) socal diver. was able to get down there for a weekend and catch some lobsters and make 3 videos in the process, check them out if you have the chance!

Awesome, Hope you are finding tons of lobsters and not losing any flags! You can also add a glow stick from the dollar store to help the boaters see your location while diving at night.
