Agreed! We fish and hunt for food purposes only. Thats how I was raised. My dad always told us, dont kill something unless you plan to eat it. We had squirrels and rabbits for dinner when I was growing up at times. Mostly raised on deer meat until I was 15 and we moved out of the country and into a town. I dont eat any of the fish you listed. I just throw them back. I do have fun catching ladyfish tho. I use it for cut bait. Those hardheads arent good for nothing but eating your bait. You make nice videos, I dont know why yall don't have more followers. I'm guessing yall live in Port A full time? We would love to be, but my father in law is elderly and not in the best of health, and we just lost my mother in law a few months ago, so we dont want to move that far from him. We live in Burleson now, and make multiple trips down every year. After he passes, we will be moving down. What do yall do for work if you dont mind me asking? My husband is a retired Ft Worth police officer, and I'm a professional pet groomer. I'm not sure on the market for groomers down there. Where we are now I stay booked out 2 months, not sure if there is enough business on the island to keep making what I make now. Might have to work in Corpus.
@lauradavis4848 thanks for the feedback. We're just getting started with the channel, it'll pick up. We live down there part time, the rest in Helotes. We'll be down there full time soon. Back in the fall to fish a few times each week and we'll put out move videos. Hope to retire and be there all year in 2025. Whatever you harvest, great organic meat! Keep up the great lifestyle. God bless you and your family
I love shell hunting in Port A. I got a ton on Thurs the 20th right after Alberto. That was the most shells I've ever seen the water throw up on my 30 plus years of going there.
@lauradavis4848 awesome! After a good storm is a great time to beach comb
Great video. I just went red snapper fishing last weekend. We went out into federal waters from Port Aransas. I got my limit and then fished for my husband's limit as he was sick on the boat sitting next to me. Did some surf fishing and got a red, whiting, a couple lady fish, and of course those pain in the butt hard heads. Wasn't sure fishing would be good right after Alberto, but it turned out fine after all.
@@lauradavis4848 that's awesome!
reds drums trout
Surprised that one of the best-eating fish in the bay is not on here...tripletail
I love hardhead... bleed immediately, gut half hour later, leave out mudline. I also like oyster toadfish. Pinkish OK, but with so much mudline cut out there is no meat left. Croaker and shark (yes, like pork!) amazing. Thanks for the info on sting rays. I'll try that! I like trash fish because it's low impact on fisheries and other people's table fare.
Whiting are awesome. So is sheepshead. Smaller black drums are good too.
I like black drum better then red drum by far honestly.
They are not such a thing as trash fish some fish tase better than others MA be you all dont know how to cook fish you have to know how to cook fish and how to set up the fish that it I been eating fish all my life every day I eat fish
I agree, freshness is the key factor and prep
Agree. Those fish are called as such as they are by-catches not necessarily because they taste awful.
grew up on trout and reds pretty much. So, yah, I guess I prefer those. But I recently had Spanish Mackerel and Sheepshead for the first time and it was glorious! Glorious for my tongue and my belly!
the king mackerel mercury thing is wayeeeee exagerrated.
dunno if you’ve seen the channel Landshark Outdoors. He’s a pretty big and well known channel as fishing channels go. But anyways, he has a whole whole lot of “trash fish” catch, clean, ‘n cook videos. And he has done them all very much on purpose. And his fun motto goes, “no trash fish, only trash cooks!”😂 Watching his videos very much helped me realize how the whole “trash fish” idea is, to a very large extent, based on a bunch of opinionated, uneducated bs that has been repeated and repeated and repeated for so many years, that, unfortunately, people come to believe it is true. Well, it’s not true. It’s one thing to have a preference. That’s totally fine! Very good! It is completely a different thing to hear some fishermen, as one may hear, be so totally “anti” this fish or that fish because it’s “trash” for whatever idiotic or uneducated reason they may say. So, example, do I prefer ladyfish? nah. I don’t. Is it trash? No, absolutely not. As Landshark Outdoors proved and helped me realize, there is a specific way to correctly prepare each species. Although yet still, I would go ahead and say that a deep sea angler fish would be a trash fish.😂
Ich hab die Firma 6x angeschrieben weil ich eine kaufen würde-ohne Reaktion:-((
Only see two fish on there that I do not like the taste of. I do not see any Trash fish. I’ve never had a white trout or a sand trout, so I cannot say anything. The mackerels i’ve much prefer smoked just like I prefer my mullet smoked. triggerfish, is not easy to clean, but the meat is fantastic, it is also extremely good as sashimi. My mother loved fish, eggs, fresh or salt. I’m not so excited about them…. But I think it’s because I don’t take sufficient care in them. Jackfish I don’t even bother with anymore unless I’m fixing it for the cats.
Ill eat the hell outta gaftop
Was kostet die Anlage? Wo und wer erzeugt sie danke koxi
Sea bass and redfish are some of my favorite to eat. I love catching but also love cooking
Same here!
Trash fish name is because some fish don't keep well in the fridge for a few days or don't taste good after they are frozen. Damn near all fish taste good fresh.
I agree
Abangku Apakah itu aman di makan ?, di tempatku sangat banyak keong seperti itu

I'm just wondering HTF they got the truck up over the boardwalk and jetty!

@@Whitetrash_Customs that's what a lot of people seem to think
Ive ate jack crevalle before.it had the texture and taste of a beef steak.
I bet they would make great fish burgers if u grind them up
I never considered that, I'll try it next time!
Spot on I think, stringray is fantastic, and I've had mullet from the surf fried and they were great (also bled out).
I’ve caught and ate everything in the top two tiers. Puppy drum (juvenile black drum) are delicious, and one of the best eating species in the second group outside of trigger fish. No apparent worms in younger drum. Trigger fish is highly prized in my area of Northwest Florida. I’ve eaten lady fish, shark and mullet. I’ve caught boat loads of croakers, hardheads and a few gaff tops and stingrays, but not sure if I’ve eaten them. One fish you didn’t include was bonito. I’ve always wanted to try them. Ive heard people say they’re just like tuna.
also, while unsightly, sure, yes, it is also true that those “spaghetti worms” completely harmless to humans when the fish is cooked properly.
Heavy guitar music is unnecessary and annoying.
We like it!
Bonnethead sharks are delicious and plentiful. Small jacks are good on the grill. Ladyfish are gross. Hardheads taste like bloody mud even when bled. Whiting are the best tasting fish I think.
i had gafftop catfish fried in my tent on the beach this was the best cat ever !
FAVORITE: Pompano LEAST FAVORITE: Sand Trout SUPRISINGLY GOOD: Gafftop
Ling...A.K.A. Cobia
Stuffed flounder--yummm!🏆
So, they are all good.
I don't think there's anything I hate more on this Earth than Gafftops and hardheads
Looking forward to catch and cook of all them! Great vid keep it up
Thank you!
Gimme fresh mullet, fried, smoked or grilled.
Triple Tail is by far my Favorite
Snook, permit.
My favorite are ladyfish and pogies
Red snapper, red fish, sheepshead, beach drum, spotted trout, flounder in that order
You need a BIG net! Lolz. Nice fish!!
