My journey with Agni Raksha started as a burns patient since 2011. When everyone thought that I would not survive after the severe burns, Agni Raksha gave me the hope and to discover meaning in my life. I went through the painful processes of reconstruction surgeries but they seemed nothing because of the encouragement and motivation from Dr. Prema (also a burn survivor) who corrected my scars, contractures and deformities and enhanced my appearance.
When I was devastated, Agni Raksha built my self-confidence steadily and changed my perceptions about life. As a staff of Agni Raksha, I went through many valuable experiences and learnt skills to make others’ life beautiful. I connect many patients with burns to Agni Raksha for their rehabilitation and also give counselling support to them and families. I am also involved in programmes for empowering women burn survivors, de addiction of alcoholic spouses, awareness on prevention of burns etc. I am delighted that I am able to bring transformation in their lives through Agni Raksha.
