Don’t change a thing! I found your account today after trying to research the best oils to use in wax, I’ve spent all day watching every single one of your videos. Your voice is actually so soothing, your videos bring me so much comfort. Your content brings me so much joy! Not to mention the tips and advice you give is amazing, keep being you ❤
@@emandmjtravel Awh thank you SO much for this. I am so glad you found me and find the videos helpful and enjoy them 🥰🥰🥰cx
Hi Jordan.. Im almost 60 and just decided to start candle making... Im loving it. Your channel is such an inspiration. Keep up the good work and im looking forward to watching all your videos..
Thank you so much for your lovely comment 🥰 Hobby candle making is even more fun as you can play around and if not selling you don’t need to follow any rules! Enjoy ⭐️😍
Sorry your not feeling your best. I can't believe the person who tried to scam you had the audacity to try again. Can I ask what type of thermometer you recommend? Have a good week 😊
@@MsFresh619 I know! I couldn’t believe it! You’d think they would change their details first 😂🤦🏼♀️ I don’t use a thermometer anymore as my wax boiler has a temperature control! But I used to use a laser thermometer I got from Amazon 😁 x
Hey another great vlog, I was excited you we’re pertinently heading to Hammersmith as that’s where I live. My candle business has taken over the back half of my living room I’m lucky to have a large living room however running out of room very quickly especially during this busy period. You have inspired me as I have also hired my mum twice a week to label and pack whilst I make candles it makes all the difference and she’s really enjoying it. I’m a stockiest in a very busy shop and I have a lot of Christmas markets ahead too. You are a true inspiration, thank you and keep these great vlogs coming. It makes us candle makers feel less alone. 😊
Haha I love Hammersmith I was actually pretty disappointed to not be coming! Ahh I’m so happy you can also hire your mum. Such an exciting season for business! It’s crazy busy this end and my mum can’t extend to 2 days so I’m a little stretched 😂🤦🏼♀️ xx
Another great vlog Jordan. Sorry to hear you are still feeling a bit shitty, hope the steroids kick in and make an improvement. So weird today I was setting up books for supplies and costings and one for ideas and inspiration, then you go and mention it 😬😬 I often have ideas and your right, if you don’t get them out of your head and on paper they fly off out of my head. Plus you can look at them again later and realise maybe they were not such good ideas. Well I do anyway. Look forward to your next vlog 🤗🤗🤗
An ideas book is so important! So funny you thought of it just the same day I mentioned haha! I think as a creative we aaaaall need an inspiration dump sometimes haha! I get too many ideas swirling round up there 😂🤯
Very random one, what brand paper packing tape have you got? I can’t find one that is sustainable but actually sticks 😂 x
@@lukewingedgamer1591 I don’t think it’s branded, it’s a random seller on eBay that sells paper tape! To be honest I’ve only just found a decent one - all the branded expensive ones were rubbish! x
@@WILDRACECO Ahh I see, yeah that's what I've found as well. X
@ Just looked up the seller on eBay I use, it’s called PRONTO.DIRECT and I use their ‘brown Kraft paper packing parcel tape’ 😁
@@WILDRACECO Thanks you're the best 🥰
Hey just wondering have you come off NOTHS? I noticed it says you had 0 sales and I was thinking of joining but it's a £200 fee + 25% from each sale. Do you think it's worth it?
@@EtcTwilight Hey, definitely a lot over zero sales haha! Maybe 50 sales in 2 years of being on there so removed all my items last month as was just a bit pointless and they take such a huge percentage. I haven’t found it worth it at all, BUT I have a friend who was getting like 60 sales a month on there so I really have no clue what the deal is with them 😂 personally, I don’t think candles are great on there as too many of them. My friend’s business was selling something else x
Loved the epic timelapses in this vlog! Very motivational ☺️ Really hope this round of steroids is the last and you can kick the allergic reaction for good! x
Ahh so glad you liked the Timelapse’s! It was a little experiment in a slightly new way of vlogging! I liked it better and glad you did too! 😁 Fingers crossed the steroids fix me 😂🤞🤞🤞
@ Yes, I think they work really nicely! 😃 x
Your candles always look smooth on the top. What kind of wick do you use?
@@lindagower1106 I use TCR wicks but probably more the wax and temperature or pouring that makes them super smooth 😁
Thank you, They always look lovely 😊
Hi Jordan, another great video! Have you thought about moving your studio to your living room? You do so much moving inventory from downstairs to upstairs and vice versa, which I guess is good for staying fit!!! And it might save you having to use your bedroom as well. Just a thought! You're doing a wonderful job! Keep going! Charlene (from emodoré) xoxo
@@charleneblagrove thank you Charlene! Our lounge has no room for anything. I use the spare bedroom for candles and then it just overflows into our bedroom when you see the white table my mum works at. Only way it works in this very small house 😂😂 xx
I love your videos, because you're yourself and you talk about your journey. Found your channel about month ago. I'm starting to make candles in Finland and your videos have been helpfull and inspirising! 💕 Just do you and keep going! 😊
Awh thank you so much for this lovely comment 🥰 so happy I can inspire you! ♥️
I use beeswax but not in candles, it takes a longer time to melt than soy wax. As a asasthmatics I totally understand how paraffin affects the chest. I like soy wax it's easy to work with 😊
Ahhh interesting! Must definitely be an asthma thing then! I did wonder if it was just a ‘me’ thing 😂 interesting about the beeswax! 🐝

Thanks so much for this useful video :) ive seen online thay you need to register with local authority to trade - is this right? I have signed up to sell at my work in December and realised there are some things to do before then. Are there any specific things that need to be included on the label?
Depends what country you are in. In the UK you need to register as self employed or business when trading profit over £1000 in a year. You’ll need CLP labels on the bottom of the candle too - legal requirement including allergen info xx
@WILDRACECO thank you! I'm based in the UK. I got a bit confused as it said I needed to register with local authority as well as register as self employed, but can only find a form to fill out for selling food 😅 I don't think I'll make £1000 this tax year year, so will leave that part for now. But thanks for the info on allergens! How do you display them - on your box or website? Sorry for all the questions, feels a bit like a minefield but your video already helped with lots of qs
@ No worries at all! CLP must be displayed on the bottom of the candle, and should be accessible basically at ‘point of sale’. Should be displayed on website if possible but I know most people don’t as it’s quite hard to display xx
I love your videos thank you so much for sharing! I honestly like that you talk and I can listen to you and learn while I make my candles or do my other work! You’ve motivated me in the US
Ahh thank you so much! That’s exactly the content I wanted to make 🥰
Nope. Not boring at all. I enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰
Just be yourself and share what you are comfortable sharing. I think your vlogs are getting better and better because you are getting more comfortable with it.
That’s actually so good to know! Glad you think they are improving. Definitely a lot more comfortable with filming and chatting now. Although have to be careful now I don’t say too much 😂 x
I think you’re great! A day in the life of either your shop and all would be fun. More work perhaps but fun
Thank you so much for this comment, glad you like the vlogs! Will have a play around this week and see what comes out 🥰♥️
Your not boring at all. Share what you feel comfortable with. Congrats on hitting your reading goal.
Thank you so much! Haha so happy, I’ve set that goal for around 10 years…. Better late than never 😂

Not boring at all, love your weekly updates Don’t change a thing. 😊
Thank you so much for this, made me smile 🥰♥️
This is the first time I've come across your vlog and I really enjoyed both the business content, the making process and your personality! You're not in the slightest bit boring, I found you refreshingly real and funny. I run a small business from home and can fully relate to and enjoy the ramblings so please don't hold back the weird! I wouldn't stress about putting extra work on yourself to film personal life content, you're still recovering and teetering on the mental time of year but whatever you put out there, I've subbed and looking forward to the next one ☺
Thank you so much Leanne. Love this comment. So glad you’re joining me. So happy you enjoyed the video and thank you for the compliments! Will keep a mixture of both the waffle & candles ♥️♥️
Completely understand the frustration, I’m much smaller and newer than you and already had someone try to copy exactly my ethos but hey ho. Loving the content style and you’re not boring at all plus we all need a waffle and sometimes the best wisdom comes from a waffle 😂 hope the markets went well x
It’s frustrating isn’t it. I think because we pour so much love and hard work into things it just feels a little heartbreaking for people to just rip us off 🙁 Will keep the waffle! Seems to be popular lol! X
You're not boring - you're awesome, keeping it real with the highs and the lows. Handmade biz is not all rainbows and butterflies. I'm not candles (art/photo displays) but really enjoy watching as I work - so mission accomplished there! I think post what you want and what you feel comfortable with - your tribe will find you and appreciate the value you give. Also don't be so hard on yourself - I am still in awe that you are managing to share your journey with us so regularly.
Thank you so much. Your comment and support really means the world. Really glad you like watching. That’s so funny because I feel like I don’t have ENOUGH videos 😂
Please don’t try to be nothing other than yourself lovely, you are so authentic and true. Also really generous with your knowledge. You made me smile when you thought you were being a bitch, not at all. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but when it comes to taking someone else’s ideas and profiting from them that really isn’t fair. Looking forward to your next vlog 😊😊😊
Thank you Vicki. Yes I think that’s it, so much love and time goes into things and when they are just copied it’s just a little sad 😞 Glad you like the videos! Really appreciate your support ♥️♥️
Keep up with the vlogs and business tip vids! I think you hit the perfect balance as it’s nice to have another creative share the behind the scenes and the thought process behind what you do and create. It’s also very realistic that things don’t always go smoothly and to plan so I think it’s great how honest and open you are as that’s far more relatable to watch! The business tip videos are always very informative too! I think another good video to do soon would be a Q&A video, as you’ve built a bigger audience now than when you first started! Keep it up - you’re great! ⭐️
Thanks Jack 🥰 I am happy you appreciate the honesty - something that can make me unpopular in ‘real’ life 😂 Q&A is a great idea! 💡 x
You are most definitely not boring Jordan! I find both your weekly vlogs and business talks really interesting, I love putting them on in the evening with a cup of tea and seeing what you've been up to 😊❤️ Honestly just show whatever feels right to you, if you are comfortable showing the personal side as well I would definitely find it interesting, and hopefully you might feel easier just being yourself. Don't worry about being a weirdo, I'm pretty sure we all are 😂 and that's what makes you you, so if you feel like you want to, just show it! Don't feel like you have to limit yourself because you are worried what others might think ❤️ We like watching you for you! x
Weirdos Unite 🤩🙌 I love that cosy vibe, that’s what I wanted from these vlogs ♥️♥️
Your doing a great job 😊
@@suzanneharkess8069 Thank you Suzanne 🥰🥰🥰
I'm currently sitting on the couch with my coffee watching your video and looking at face cleanser formulas, even though I have 100 bars of soap to package, gift boxes to make, bath bombs to make, paint, wrap and label. All by the end of Wednesday. 😂
Hahahaha! That’s how I feel, procrastination! 😂 You can do this 💪
@WILDRACECO so far I've made one batch of bath bombs and made the cleanser 😂 and the labels lol, it's just one of those days!
New week now - Monday motivation! 😂
I think you strike such a great balance with your content, showing us the highs and lows of owning a candle business and your mindset and thinking behind things. I love seeing how it impacts your whole life because it’s realistic for those of us who want to start a candle business. It’s nice to have it in a relax vlog style too as it makes for cosy viewing rather than a sit down video where it can sometimes be information overload! I would say keep on doing what you’re doing and just refine your craft of making videos along the way, as you’ve done with candle-making. ❤
Daisy that’s such a good point. I never thought about it from that angle. I guess it’s a great way to see how life could actually be (not all so glamorous 😂). I’m glad you think there’s a balance. I think sometimes when I watch myself back editing I just start doubting myself as I find myself boring to watch, but I guess maybe anyone would find themselves boring 😂 Thank you so much for your comment xxx
@WILDRACECO You’re welcome ❤️ Yes, I think it’s good to show the reality of it because those of us who want to start our own candle business will need to embrace it (warts and all!) I am also a video and podcast editor by profession, and I can completely relate to listening to yourself back. I host the podcast I edit in my day job, and often feel the same when hearing myself back. I have learned that we are our own worst critic though. It’s taken me years in my profession to try and filter out my inner critic and negative self talk. I would just say to keep on going and being yourself and you will naturally find your feet with vlogging and learn what you think works and doesn’t along the way. Hope this helps in some way xx
I don't have a Candle business but I still enjoy watching you and you're definitely not boring 😊
That’s so cool! So glad you like them even without being a candle maker ♥️
I've only just found your vlogs and I love them! I am learning so much , they are definitely not boring at all. So tempted to start a new hobby now! 😊

You are not boring and I love your vlogs 😊
Thank you so much, one of those weeks where I think I’m just doubting everything ♥️
You are not boring at all, you are a calm person and, believe me, many people (me included) like it. Your videos are quite comforting and I also learn new useful things from you as I'm also making candles. I have a lifestyle brand dedicated to Italy that has different things from apparel to accessories and now scented candles. I added the candles to my brand just this year in April and I'm still learning a lot from TH-cam. I like that you talk in your videos about how your brand grew in the last year and how things changed, how now you need even more supplies, etc. It gives me hope that after some time and hard work I will also be in this position. I like your videos and I watch every new video when it comes out. I live in Italy, not in UK but still find what you are telling useful. Keep up with your great work and don't give up on TH-cam. It requires a lot of patience and sometimes you can doubt yourself if you don't get much feedback from your audience bit still it worths it! Good luck with everything you do.
Thank you SO much Natalia, this is such a kind comment. I am so glad you like the videos and that comforting style is exactly what I wanted from these vlogs. I guess sometimes it’s hard to know when it’s your own content as I don’t find myself interesting to watch 😂 Really happy you’ve found me and like the videos. TH-cam really is such a lovely place to be and learn ♥️

Where do you find boxes for your jars?
Hope the surgery goes well or went well by this time. Would you say that you get most of your wholesale enquiries and requests of Faire? Not there yet but hoping to get a stockist soon
@@lukewingedgamer1591 Thank you, Surgery was a success! Urm, no I get most by contacting shops myself or them contacting me and then maybe 20% from Faire. Faire is very hit and miss, some months I get quite a few newbies, then I can go 4-5 months with nothing. One tactic is following and interacting with the shops you want to be stocked in on their social media x
@@WILDRACECO Thank you 🥰 and thank you for answering my questions, i know you’re busy as hell. Seen all your videos and love your level of knowledge. Another question if you don’t mind, im looking at getting a stall at a couple markets, how do you find them, there so many and no way to know which ones are hit or miss
@ Thanks Luke! So there’s no way of 100% knowing really which markets are good and bad. I took a year just saying yes to every single one I could find and then if it was rubbish I didn’t repeat that particular one. For finding them, word of mouth, instagram, facebook groups. Or look up Christmas markets in your area on google then find a contact number or email to ask for a stall. X

@WILDRACECO That's super helpful thank you! x
I'm not doing Christmas markets this year because it would be my first markets and honestly that sounds like the deep end! Hopefully I can ease my way in at the beginning of next year and look forward to next Christmas.
It’s definitely a busy time to begin so leaving them if you’re a newbie till the new year would be better for experience. But I do find the non-Christmas ones are so quiet I don’t bother with them too much anymore. But for the first two years I went to every single one I could just to build up experience x
Love this! I hope I can try Christmas markets in 2025 once I’ve finished the testing phase and started selling online. I bet they help to get you in the festive spirit. 😊 I love how fast you’re talking here, as you’re clearly so passionate about what you do. 🥰 Quick question: When selling at markets do you wrap the candles before popping them in the bags? Or is it easier just to place them in as they come?
Very passionate! ADORE a Christmas market 🎄 I don’t wrap them no, I don’t find I have enough time as can lose queuing customers if I take too long. I just pop them straight in the bag 🥰 xx
@ That makes total sense. Thanks for the tips as always! ☺️
Great video as always, i do a lot of Pillar candles and.i always brig a cloth with me to wipe the table for small bots if wax and fingerprints from candle jars.
Good idea! I don’t do pillar candles so luckily very tidy 😁 so right about fingerprints! I find myself cleaning them off aaaaall day! X
Great advice yet again. I’m still in the testing stages of candle making but am looking forward to doing some markets next year, especially a Christmas one. Hope you are healing well and feeling better. Look forward to your next vlog 🤗🤗🤗
