Antigua Guatemala Market Hunt 🇬🇹
Exploring the huge local market in Antigua Guatemala to buy some stuff I forgot for hiking Acatenango

Exploring the local markets is one of my favorite things to do while traveling, so when I landed in Guatemala I knew I would have to check it out! I love the energy of a big local market. The vendors, the smell of random foods I've never heard of, people yelling to try and get your attention, its just so exhilarating. But for today's Guatemala market hunt I was on a mission. You see I forgot to bring sandals on my Guatemala trip and my raincoat was stolen the night before. I was planning on hiking Volcan Acatenango the next weekend so I knew I would absolutely need a rain coat because it commonly rains in the afternoon in Guatemala in the summer. Will I be able to find what I need in this Guatemala market?? Watch and see!

Hiking Acatenango Volcano and Volcan de Fuego in Guatemala to see the eruption didn't quite go as planned... Book the volcano tour here: getyourguide.tp.st/JKBficsZ You can never quite plan for everything when you travel, so you have to keep that in mind and be flexible when things come up. Would be awesome to have a 'snow bunny/coolest town' list to go with this, as a series. Also a best 'I am bringing a newbie' list - if not the same.
Is this sam hyde
You traveled to Guatemala on your van?? That’s quite the risk bro! I respect your bravery! Me personally would never cross to Mexico and keep driving down to Central American countries, there’s high crime rates in those places and a lot of militia/cartel who would love to steal your beautiful van home and the police wouldn’t give a damn so be careful traveling there with the van. I’d recommend just getting a plane ticket and finding a good hotel for your international travels.
It depends whether you want to travel across the country or stay in the same place long term. I personally like to travel but there are people who feel content with staying in the same city despite them having a home on wheels, once I find a city that I absolutely love there’s a chance I’ll stay there for a couple months before I head off on my next adventure.
I like solitude more that brighton
I went to park city and it was amazing, especially because of the size
Taos, A-tier?!?!? YESSIR. I completely agree. I've skied many of the great Colorado resorts (haven't made my way to Utah or Canada), and I must say that Taos has never left me feeling like it was anything less than its northern competitors.
Ooh I’d love to see where Whitefish stacks up on here.
Revelstoke should be S tier
It is
Do they pay taxes
Lol i know exactly where this is lol ur in front of the library and the lil Ceasars across the street, on cedar
Alta should switch with Big Sky but otherwise👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ummmmm 🤔
I feel like it’s wrong to put snowbird and Alta on different tiers as they are so similar
You are clearly not going through to the right places at powder mountain. If you can overcome your lazy aditude to hike up James Peak you will discover runs that are just as steep as snowbirds.
Hey! Great vid! Just so you know u may have left out monarch
NEVER Ski there. They take your money then stop you skiiing so a criminal can bypass you!
"Alieska"
Thank god someone who finally barred Alta from S tier and acknowledged that us snowboarders exist!
I got your back
Even though Alta is my all-time favorite resort, this is based.
According to this video, the northeast has mysteriously disappeared from north america
Didn't seem fair to compare the mountains of the west to the east coast ones so I'll do a different video with those
you missed mt washington on vancouver island, watched the whole vid waiting for you to rate it 😅😂
What campsite is it?
This was on Kauai! I think this was near Queens bath so probably Anini if I remember right
Send this to someone you want to travel with in 2025
Huacachina!! We only sandboarded though. I bet it was fun as hell on ski’s!
Skiing was so fun too! Definitely worth a trip back there 😜
Where can i find this mixxxxx?
Chris Watson - This is the 90s. I found it on tiktok
Whats the watts per hour? I want to get a smaller monitor or even a portable one.
The one i have is like 45W so it only pulls 3-4Amps per hour of use on 12V so not bad!
Nah Im Living there man not just visiting
Me too
😂😂
Did you try Marmot Basin? I love it there.
I haven't been there yet still need to make it there but I've heard good things!
How sad. He had to walk. 😂😂.
I’ve always wanted to go there
10/10 worth it!
This isn’t relatable💀
It is if you stay in hostels
Hey Joel, could u give me the address of that local family in Antigua? I will look for them, im thinking in going this January, tkx
Awesome! I can't give the actual address but if you book spanish classes through one of the schools there they will pair with a family automatically so you don't need to find one
Hi, I visited Antigua for the summer and I went to that same market! I loved it. Keep it up.
Thanks! Guatemala is such an underrated country!
and btw ur vlog was vrey fun and great Continue what u doing
Thank you!!
Oh brother I think it is a waste of money to buy what u are not looking for Specifically Are there other markets in this town?
They weren't too expensive and I needed them for a hike the next day so it worked out good enough. And this was the biggest market so this would be the place most likely to find it
Going to hit it today! Thanks!
Awesome! How was it??
Upscale Salvation Army 😂
I simply don't understand why your channel is sooo underrated. You make the same if not better content than other full time travelers...
@@Somerandombrawler thank you I really appreciate it! These things just take time so now it will get there eventually as long as I keep showing up
I've been looking for this for fucking ages
@@thedelta4258 here ya go 😜
Whistler all the way. Maybe I'm biased. I love my PNW mountains. But I do have to agree with the weather on Whistler However when conditions are right it's the best I have experienced. Also love Bachelor and Crystal. They are so much fun but Whistler takes the cake for me.
Weather really makes a difference in PNW but when its good the skiing is so good!!
I'd like to defend Sunpeaks a bit. If you're able to go with somebody who's advanced and knows the mountain, the skiing off Crystal is pretty fantastic. Gils is full of open expert terrain and there's some pretty great lines in the West Bowl.
Maybe I just need someone to show me around but i wasn't able to find the truly expert stuff when i was there
Have you ever been to Beaver in UT though, if so what do you think of it? This is my first season and I decided to get a pass there because I go to the college near it.
I haven't personally done beaver yet but I hear its a good local mountain, just a bit smaller than the ones in the cottonwoods but if you're going to college near there its a great place to have a pass and get some laps in
How much height clearance do you have?
6'2" inside the van, like 9ft exterior height. Wheelbase clearance is the standard for promasters
Great list. Most of CO is overrated, overcrowded or just has poor snow compared to a lot of western and CA ski areas.
This secret TV is awesome!!
Thank you!
Great video! Thats me at 44:13! I haven’t been to most of the resorts mentioned but can confirm that Alyeska is A tier at the very least!
Thats awesome thanks for being in the video! You make Alyeska look sick!
@ Thanks, I do my best!
Steamboat just opened a new lift that access some pretty extreme hike out terrain that would move it up on your list I would think.
I'll have to try and get out there this season and check it out to update the review
Next one your in Montana you should check out bridger bowl
I'm trying to get out there!
