I feel like this album is underrated
I have a vinyl recording. Bought it in early 80’s . A dear favourite. Thank you for uploading this gem 💎!!
I went to George's Spagetti House early 80s and our table was 5 feet away! Guitar was Ed Bickert who I saw 5 other times. He has the idiosyncrasy of going to the volume control when ever his hand has a break
I would like to know the turntable and cartridge used in this recording. The sound is excellent, despite some clicks and pops. Thanks and congrats.
Thanks for the complimentary comments. On this one I used a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO turntable with the Ortophon 2M Red cartridge that came with the turntable. This record came from a second hand record store so there were, unfortunately, a few clicks and pops on it.
First heard Midnight in Moscow while traveling in Norway in the early 70's. It was in a wall jukebox in a small cafe. Great music transcends borders, cultures and time.
I like all of the Dusko albums you have posted up here Mark. He was a very accomplished and tasteful musician who had an interesting background, played with some of the cream of jazz musicians and lived a long and productive life. Many thanks...
You're very welcome. Glad you like these ones. Dusko Goykovich albums can be hard to find these days. If you want your own copies grab them when you see them available.
@@marksmusiccollection-jazz4290 Have a very happy Christmas Mark...
@@johnnyonenote376 Thank you. Merry Christmas to you too.

Glad you liked this one Ron. Feel free to add any comments you may care to make on these.
I still have my LP of this. just great.
Keep it safe. This is a hard album to find these days.
The best teacher Indiana Jones ever had.

Fantastic pal, absolutely beautiful music
Glad you liked this one.
Well, that was a fabulous album to listen to Mark. Hadn't heard this one before, but used to see Freddy on TV in the UK back in the day and he eventually began to be recognised as a skilled pianist and singer in his own right, made some fine albums, this one included...many thanks.
You're very welcome. Glad you liked this one. Freddy Cole should definitely have been better known than he was during his lifetime.
Nice music 🎶
Glad you liked this one.
Thank you- one of the all time greats & one of my Fav albums all time- appreciate you uploading this awesomeness
You're very welcome. Glad you liked this one.

Stan Kenton brought his band to my High School Music Room on a Saturday after performing at the Thunderbolt Hotel in Millbrae in 1968. Our high school jazz band was playing Stan Kentons Charts for Cuban Fire and Artistry in Rhythm. I played the Melophonium of which we had 4. Warren Heckman was our music director. 56 years later I still spin his LP,s and crank up my 1970,s stereo My best memories in high school were participating in SSF Blue Knights jazz band
Wonderful album !
This is a great album I have this album too!
I remember listening to these beautiful songs with a crystal radio set I had as a kid....I used to put the ear in the ear piece and float into the notes.
The old folks on the hill
Thanks for posting!
You're very welcome. Glad you liked this one.
I met Stan 1972 in Berlin behind the Stage. Some of his guys were guests at my Hause the nicht before. A wonderful memory!
Who can do it better than these two? 😘🌧️
I have bought this vinyl record a minute ago, it was for to long in my wantlist, this album is a must have!
Keep it safe. This album is hard to find.
I love the kind of trumpet

Gloria Lynne was an amazing singer who never got the rewards she deserved in the music industry. An this defunct label is only a small testament to how she was abused.
👏🏾👏🏾
Hier is het bewijs dat direct cut music onbetwistbaar superieur is aan alle latere ontwikkelingen! Wat een dynamiek 😮
I used to have this vinyl and was remembering " when love has grown" and finally found it. This for me is Georges best rendition and still his distinguished style par excellence. The harmonization the chord melodies, this is what I admire. Thanks for putting this online!!!
You're very welcome. Glad you liked this one and that you found it here.
Alleluia, yes the upper room fellowship so sweet❤
Man, I was looking EVERYWHERE for this cover of "Mrs. Robinson"! Thanks!
You're very welcome. Glad you finally found it and found it here.
Among the top 3 albums of my young adulthood. Preceded by George Benson Breezin. And followed by The Nightfly Donald Fagen. A rush of heady and bittersweet memories. The Ogerman arrangements are elegant. And a wonderful nod to Errol Garner. Lovely to live these again. Thank you.
Three excellent albums there.
trompette trop "agressive"
Watch one of his last concerts in Hong Kong just before he passed away. Bet he is still fiddling in heaven. Miss him a lot 😢
Thank you for putting these up. I played piano as a younster and focused on ragtime, played Scott Joplin. My mother bought me the three Rifkin albums on vinyl for Christmas back in the late 1970s. I loved to play them on our old Radio-Shack hifi. I lost the albums in a move years ago, great memomries.😊
You're very welcome. Glad you liked these.
My in laws absolutely loved Stan Kenton, luckily they saw him live at Sheffield city hall UK in the 1970s
I saw him at the City Hall in 1956 and at the Fiesta in Sheffeild about the same time as your parents his bands at that time were mainly bands made up of very proficient students, a lot of the name musicians had gone.
#1 male jazz singer!
But not very well known these days unfortunately.
I bought this date at the KJAZ 92.7 FM Spring Festival & Swap in Golden Gate Park's Hall Of Flowers in 1988 When I played it at the ice rink for filler between the onslaught of Debbie Gibson, George Michaels and Bobby Brown and the Boys, some of the teens with "big ears" would ask who it was and ask me if they could they borrow the tape!
great!
Glad you liked this one.
Thank you again!
Thank you for this one! It's been one of my favorites since it came out (yes, I'm that old). But it's so hard to find now. THANK YOU
You're very welcome. And, yes, I'm that old too. LOL!
Thank you for sharing all of this wonderful music! It's a gift.
You're very welcome. Glad you're enjoying the uploads.
Oliver Gannon was an underrated guitar both as an accompanist and soloist. Thankful for these recordings!
You're very welcome. Glad you're enjoying them. And you're right about Oliver Gannon. The music business can be very unfair.
Wait a minute, isn't swing just triplets, except the first note in every beat is held out for two triplets subbeats and the last one is only one triplet? Well, what do you know.
I remember seeing him in the 70s- he and his group came and did a concert at a church in our town in Ontario. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Which town was that?
Smooooooth! Thank you for posting. 🙏🏼
You're very welcome. Glad you liked this one.
Have loved Sidney Bechet's flavorful jazz for years. And it has been a few years since I last listened. Until this morning again, his history infused sounds fill the studio here, blissful melodies. This morning reading the NY Times obit on the great jazz enthusiast writer promoter Dan Michael Morgenstern, Sidney's name popped up with this great story from 1949 on 52nd Street Club in NYC. Mentioned many stories, but this one hit me square in the memory banks“One night in 1949 on 52nd Street, a friend of mine and our dates wound up closing Jimmy Ryan Club (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Ryan%27s). The clubs back then were all open until 3 or 4 in the morning. The great New Orleans clarinetist and soprano saxophonist Sidney Bechet was leading a quartet that night and at one point Sidney sat down, pulled up a chair, and put his feet up so he could stretch his legs. He closed his eyes and played a slow blues for about 15 minutes. It was so marvelous.” Imagine experiencing that? And all the countless times Dan Morgenstern lived through the great years of jazz in NYC and all over. Sometimes it does not hit you for someone's full incredible worth or you don't truly miss someone till they're gone. Worth a read if you have never heard of the great Dan Morgenstern. www.nytimes.com/2024/09/07/arts/music/dan-morgenstern-dead.html?te=1&nl=today%27s-headlines&emc=edit_th_20240910
