This channel is a showcase for my aerial videos and photographs taken with DJI Phantom 4 UAV. I very much enjoy filming beautiful landscapes in attractive conditions and seeing everything from a different perspective. I hope that many people will enjoy watching my videos and I look forward to reading comments and criticism. I'm a newbie on TH-cam so please subscribe if you like my work!
I have always been fascinated by views from above the ground and in recent years this has become easier than ever for people to experience. I hope that this channel will enable everybody to enjoy and appreciate how things look from 'up there'. I haven't been aiming for perfection, just improvement, and I hope that you enjoy watching my films as much as I enjoy making and watching them.
Some of my films are a little lengthy but rather than a quick buzz about then move on, I rather hope that viewers will prefer a more sedate and thorough tour.
Do let me know what you think? Thanx, Jim Crewdson.

Bueng Phra Village & Ponds, Korat, Thailand
Out & about in North East Thailand and had a little explore. Found this group of ponds and smallholdings to fly around. I find it interesting exploring around nice-looking places and hope it's interesting for you too. I also like to see how people live in different locations. Many thanx for viewing, JimC.

Piel Castle Explore Two
มุมมอง 4621 วันที่ผ่านมา
Here's a second look at this fascinating castle which used to be owned by the Monks of Furness Abbey from up to 1,000 years ago. The ruins sit proudly on their own isolated Piel Island. Sadly a fair piece of it has already disappeared through coastal erosion, but there is still much of great interest remaining. I hope that my video is interesting for others to enjoy, and please see "Explore One...

Another flight that I've hoped to do for some time - and I enjoyed the flight so much that there's another (P. C. Explore Two) coming up next! I love the history and background to this castle. Unfortunately quite a bit of it has already been lost into the tide - sadly no officials have attempted to slow or forestall this damage. Still, after 1,000 years it is mostly 'still there'. Hello again, it’s me and again still proud to announce I’m so pleased I’m a former Witherslack lad and in fact, I’m coming up to the Derby Arms on the 17th of July for three nights. As you may know, the Derby Arms is at the end of Witherslack Village virtually opposite the Joe carriageway . If you happen to be in the area, please drop by the Derby Arms and it would be nice to meet you. Again, the days at Witherslack Hall were fantastic as far as I’m concerned and again, I’d have loved it had that School turned into a further education college, including had they taken over the adjacent farm, as I gladly have gone back years ago trained and stayed for a job as a member of staff on the farm and taking on other jobs there.
@bestrickie2 Hello again to you and thank you again for your comment and information - always good to hear from you. Sorry I as unable to respond in a timely manner, been having some medical problems over the last few months. Did you get to the Derby Arms. Sorry we didn't get to meet. Maybe next time, health permitting?! Cheers, JimC.
@@FlightsOfFancy2020 hello, yes I stayed at the Derby Arms for three nights, I was going to go home on the Saturday but I extended my stay in Witherslack Village, headed up to what was the equestrian centre and is still a B&B. Of course, the equestrian centre/B&B was, the farm during my proud attendance at the school next door so yes, extremely poignant. I may well be going up again during October as there is someone semi-famous who works at that school and other affiliates. Get well soon my friend and yes, it would be nice to catch up.

Hi Jim, yet another stunning video. The colours are so vibrant. I am sorry to hear that you are in hospital yet again. I hope they manage to identify and treat the problem soon. I will be back in Keswick for a two week holiday next month. Take care, Paul
Good to hear from you and thanks, I tried to let you know by commenting on a previous comment in case you didn't receive notification. There's another closer version of the same place coming up in a few weeks. Oh, I'm well sick of this game - it needs to end. Take it easy and thanx again, JimC.

Hi Jim, I hope you are well. I have been watching videos of the Cumbria Way recently, which passes the lovely Beacon Tarn. I was pleased to see that you have explored this area and uploaded your usual great drone footage. The views of the Tarn, Coniston Water and the Coniston Fells are stunning. All the best, Paul
Hi Paul, thanx for watching & commenting - sorry I failed to tell you that I'd published this one. I'm sadly currently in hospital, but hoping to escape soon (!). I don't know how many of my videos of Lakes you've already seen (worldwide currently 270 published total), but my first - of Bassenthwaite Lake was published May 9th 2020 and almost all 2020/21 were of Lakes. You already told me you only watch Lakes so maybe there's tons you haven't yet seen & maybe would like? Reason is that I have an earlier Beacon Tarn video (published Aug 20, 2020) that I prefer to this one. It was my first view & I met the Farmer & for the one & only time I think, he welcomed me and happens to be a very nice chap; I made a DVD for him as a thank you & he invited me back to his farm to make another one of Beacon Tarn - this being it. Anyway, why not visit my channel & look through all the videos to find if you've seen them? My Lakes District ones are fewer in number these days ('cos I started running out of new places to go - sorry!), but still some surprises yet to come! Great to hear from you again - are you still subscribed 'cos I recently published one from Dent village, Cumbria & Esthwaite Water that you may like? Cheers & take care, thanx again, JimC.
Hi Jim, I’m sorry to hear that you are in hospital. Wishing you a speedy recovery. I think I have watched pretty much all of your Lake District videos, although it is well worth revisiting them. I watched your previous Beacon Tarn and Coniston video again today and thoroughly enjoyed it. You obviously like the Coniston area because you have made a lot of videos there. I am signed up for notifications and was aware of your latest uploads. Thanks for the heads up. Dent is a bit outside of my main area of interest. However, I watched the video today and it is a lovely village and terrific footage. I also watched the Esthwaite flight, an area you have also previously visited. Take care, Paul
@@paulhodge2266 Hi Paul, thanx for reply. Since I recently was running out of Lakes videos, obviously I've been publishing others, like Thailand/Scotland & Wales. I know that you're not too interested if it's not the Lakes, so I try to stick one up every so often - and I thought that rather than losing you I'd check if you'd missed any of my 'old stock'! Happy that you've seen all & still enjoy them. I'm ok now thanx - shoulda gone home Sunday, Monday, now tomorrow! Bye for now, JimC.
@@paulhodge2266 Hi Paul, just posted a video of High Dam, near Boretree Tarn and thought I'd let you know as it's more in your "interest-zone" than some of my others! Hope you enjoy the video - I've another one from eye level that I'll probably put up next - especially if there's a lot of interest in this one. Hope you're doing well, cheers, JimC.

I would be extremely interested to know more of your experiences and circumstances from your time spent there - if you'd be willing to share? Since I became aware of Broughton Tower around 1975, (my then girlfriend had a working placement there for a while) I have been interested to know more. The video flight made it all seem more real. I am aspiring to do an improved video there sometime in the summer! I look forward hopefully to hearing more of your memories. Thanx again - and even more thanks for subscribing, very special for me. JimC hope you can get closer to the building. It would be great if you could fly the drone in the grounds with permission of the owners. I am planning on going there on my bike around April but not sure how close I can get it. Some of the audit TH-camrs get very close to buildings even when the owners object strongly. Reading some of the comments some people have been on site with permission?

I would be keen on contacting Shaun Warburton as I definitely knew him in the mid to late 1980s but not sure if he remembers me. I had a similar issue at a past employer 30 years ago and staff can’t remember me! Getting back to being subscribed to TH-cam , I am a regular viewer to Funky Prepper, an ex army person living in Wales and I subscribed to his Chanel but haven’t received emails or notifications as I am using my second email and can’t access anything there. Hello, once again, I can only reiterate again and again, Witherslack Hall, no known as Oversands School is by far a great school and again, I honestly wish it had turned into a college. I will head up this way at some point, though I was going to head up in July this year, but with the train strikes, unfortunately that put a dampener on it. Not to worry, I’ll be back up this way soon and I would love to have a go at Operating a drone and maybe we could meet up if you’re in the area if you like. Again, I had an absolute ball when I was at that school, never perfect but on the whole and by far the best and the right school I attended. I even liked the school uniform and all the clothes we were provided as I was never fussy, and when I first began at Witherslack, when I was 11 years old plus, I just couldn’t wait to be issued with the clothes and I never ever looked back.
We didn't attend at the same time but I bet we both knew Mr Bibby, what a man, I love looking back at good times, some say it was a bad experience, I say they're soft lads, I always liked the idea that if you liked it or not we all had the same experience and we were witherslack lads
@@gravy1219 I agree and yes Mr Dave Bibby were a good guy as were all the staff though no one’s perfect. Some STUPID individuals CLAIM to have had a hard time and they STILL visit. It’s up to them I suppose. As far as I’m concerned, had a ball of a time, always wanted to give back and yes I could be a cheeky hound at times though it were never personal towards the wonderful staff.
It is so beautiful there.

This is a video filmed around lockdown time and shows most of the layout of the Abbey ruins. Such a shame, if only one could see it as it was in all its glory. Bit disappointed that it'shad so few views in such a long time. JimC.
Why do your videos have a lot of cross-fade transitions?
Hello @zigzagsox, sorry not familiar with the term but let me guess: did you mean transitions where there is camera movement directly before and directly after the transition? If so, mainly 'cos I'm a complete beginner at video editing! Plus I was going through a daft phase when I was concentrating way too much on taking photos, so the stops/pauses were much more frequent than they should have been. Also, I failed to stop properly so a lot of the video clip start/ends had movement. Since then I've discovered a way of dealing with the editing better, reducing the photos, controlling my stops - unfortunately I was way behind with editing so it took a long time for me to realise my errors. I hope this didn't put you off watching? But thanx for the criticism - it was no fun doing the editing, I can assure you! Thanx again, please check out some others from me.
I have been over this bridge many times, awesome footage
Hithere again, sorry still need to write in reply to your message - haven't forgotten! Anyway happy that you enjoyed my efforts, it's an amazing construction and I'm glad I got a close-up on a perfect day. Will be in touch, JimC!
@@FlightsOfFancy2020 No problem at all Jim, I am so busy right now.. I have not done anything here for a while.. :-)
Superb video, what a view at 2:53
Thanks Tony, glad that you enjoyed watching. I looked it up but couldn't find much interesting at 2:53, did you mean another time? Please check out some of my other videos if you can. Thanx again, JimC.
I first went up to the monument in September 1985 while attending Broughton Towers. I always thought it was a lighthouse but was told it was a monument. Never been inside. I went up the hill again in 2003. It’s an interesting building. Darwen in Lancashire has its own monument on Darwen Moor.
Hi Dave, thanx for your comment and for viewing the video. When I was little I couldn't understand why a lighthouse was so far from the sea, and I guessed that the sea level must have dropped a lot! I have visited it many times since; inside was just a little sweet shop and stairs to the top as I remember, but the sweet shop disappeared a great many years ago. What is the monument on Darwen Moor? Good to hear from you, JimC.
The Hoad Hill Monument was known as the Pepper Pot to people at Broughton Tower. I just learned that the public are allowed up this monument on Sundays so I will be making arrangements to visit it soon when the weather picks up. The tower at Darwen in Lancashire is known as the Jubilee Tower standing at around 85 feet tall. It was built during the commemoration of the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The tower is open to the public. I visit Darwen a lot. I did a little research on the Hoad Monument in Ulverston and it’s interesting to note that they celebrated the Queen Victoria Jubilee there as well with a large bonfire. It’s worth noting that the Lake District mountains are visible from Darwen Tower on a fine day.
