That's the Superlux S502 Mk2 microphone with windmuffs attached. It's a wide stereo microphone, where the microphones' positions approximate the distance between human ears to record a very natural feeling stereo soundscape.

Forgot to mention, the air horn (civil defense siren) is on top of the long black-roofed building on the right side of the image. It carries pretty far.

The organ player was incredibly skilled - this is a hard song to play. So, maybe their fingers fumbled a little bit there.

Search for "Ulvsundasjön" and you'll find it. That's the lake you see in the picture.

It's both - there are these horns distributed all around the city, and in theory they all go off at the same time, but in practice there is some disparity. And also there's latency because of the speed of sound.

On the author's website it says "The Mac version is built as universal binaries and should run on PowerPC & Intel Macs. Note that there is currently no GUI with this Mac version."

its only 32 bit, no 64 bit so it wont work on most new macs @@peterhajba1318

The windshield I use over the S502 Mk2 is a Movo WS50, they fit snugly over the mics and work much better than the foams that come with the microphone. However it seems that that particular product is no longer available: www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B00QJE02V8/ However there is an equivalent product on AliExpress under he Blue Mantis brand. The Superlux S502 Mk2 uses XLR outputs and requires phantom power so it needs to be hooked to an audio recorder with XLR inputs, which might be inconvenient when doing walk videos. Binaural in-ear microphones might work better, many of them can be plugged directly into the camera's audio in (provided that the camera can make clean and good quality audio recording). Suggestion: Sound Professionals SP-TFB-2. And ear warmers / beanie worn over the ears to wind-muff the mics. The SP-TFB-2 can be plugged either into the camera, or to a separate compact audio recorder (like a Zoom H1n or similar). If you want to use the Superlux S502 Mk2, the Zoom F3 is a very portable XLR / Phantom powered audio recorder.

Maybe the main difference is that the R0DE VideoMicro mic is only mono. Switching to an on-camera stereo mic, such as the Canon DM-E100 (not terribly expensive) already makes a big difference.

@@peterhajba1318 thanks for the advice. I have the h4n pro audio recorder and plan to upgrade to the h5. So xlr 48v phantom power is no problem. Does these headphone mics offer good quality?

@@peterhajba1318 i need to record sound external anyway if mic is bigger than rode videomicro. Because I mount the camera on my head for the walking video. I think in ear microphones have the benefits that when I turn my head which pans the camera, the sound matches with that

What do you think about the soundman okm ii?

With very long window setting (which makes the smear longer) you can use it to get a blurry, fuzzy reverb-like effect for slow wide pads in ambient music, for example. It's more of a sound design than a musical thing.
