A poor review: Ural is for off road, not for speed .... and the way it is not "a contry way", it is a good way! It seems you are biased and you set out to discredit this motorcycle with a sidecar.

KTM recommend that the rim seal band (belt) should be replaced every 5 years. A few years ago, I built a tubeless wheel for the 950 Adventure using an 1190 rim, similar to yours. I don't remember struggling with the band, but can say that I used silicone lubricant. It's nice and slippery, and good for rubber. It may also help to seat and seal the band correctly when the tyre is pressurised.

Is it just me or do the bags sit far forward in front of the rear rack. Is there room for a passenger with the bags installed?

Yes, the URAL was the BMW/ZÜNDAPP from the 2nd GW, *integral traction (3x2WD)* , ready for _all terrain_ , rural dirt roads, loaded...! Modernized, it still has stunning and fun performance. . . for those who love it, like me...! 😳🤪👅🙏💯🦁

When sliding backwards the front brake is useless it just drags the wheel. If possible use the back brake or kill the motor and let the clutch out so the engine compression will hold the bike.

Comparing this to a modern bike/sidecar is nonsense. This was designed (Pre-Germany WWII) to haul troops, ammunition, heavy loads and into combat. They were designed for work and Not comfort. When you comes to terms with that realization, you will understand and enjoy it a bit more.

Really liking the look of those Turkana bags. Seem sturdy and well made.

Rocky Mountain ATV sells a Motoz tube 4mm with an offset air nipple.. not cheap $80 but will save you on the trail if you need a tube

I own a Gear Up 2022 and drove in that time more than 30000km. Most of them on the TET (Trans Europe Trail) it has more than 50000km across Europe. No problems, no trouble... Only fuel, maintanance and tires. I love this bike like all my grandchilds did

J'ai acheté une URAL 2WD usagée avec moins de 2000 kms d'usage. Je suis encore à me familiariser avec ce tracteur bruyan à 3 roues dont la puissance est hélas inversement proportionnelle au prix. J'en rêvais depuis 7 ans pour amener un ami ''incarcere'' dans un CHSLD se balader autrement qu'en chaise roulante. Attention aux virages à droite! Dommage que ce véhicule improbable,démodé,anémique avec seulement 4 vitesse ne soit pas fabriqué par Honda mettons.la fiabilité et le plaisir en seraient décuplé à 30% moins cher...et les pièces seraient plus faciles et plus rapides à obtenir. Le positif ce tracteur russe à le droit de rouler sur les routes...

Le prix en europe est exorbitant pour un moteur obsolète !

There's a motorcycle shop in Cashmere; Cashmere Powersports, and they're excellent! Closed on the weekends, but open Monday-Friday. We have most of our work done there, or Wenatchee Powersports, which is a KTM dealer. They're Tuesday-Saturday, also very good folks.

Bummer we didn't cross paths at the rally ... I had a fuel pump and OEM filters. I had filter issues the first week of owning my 1090. Switched to the Guglatech system and haven't had an issue since.
