I'm 20 years old, I have my enrolment ceremony in two weeks, and I'm off to basic a month after. Super excited to take on new challenges and meet some like minded people! Those who have been in the CAF, any word of advice for me?

I really interested in the Human Resources Administrator field in the forces, but I don't want to be a soldier to fight in any wars.. is that even possible?
There are civilian contracts to work for the forces as administrators. But if choose to join, then the requirement is being a soldier first, HRA second.
15 years as an Int O and had the best career one can dream of. Quit in 2022. The CAF I see now saddens me.
How long security clearance took?

Why give troops a choice to take cannabis. This is why troops get charged. You simply tell them NO cannabis, NO drugs and NO alcohol while on course.

There are phone app and websites for mock tests, make sure to utilize them. When you are doing the real thing: do it fast and leave nothing blank (pick whatever if you are running low on time). idk what your trade is, NCM or officer. but combat trades take anyone who show up for the test, basically :) jk

lmao i remember getting sworn in in my kitchen on a skype call holding my phone out because it was during covid, the recruiter had to come by my place to provide wifi because we had electrical problems.

He should be in DEUs but for the CADPAT, now in the CAF you can wear the trousers un bluesed
This is the new CAF from the 2022 dress instructions. Unbloused trousers, face tattoos, purple mops on their heads. I am glad I left.

Yes and No. Yes it's Canadian army reserves. Note that army, RCN (navy) and RCAF (air force) all fallen under the Canadian Armed Forces.

@@TheJimyyy I said i am retired from CAF, I was during my career a member of CSOR in Pet then posted to the hill! Lots of different ages. If you make it past selection you’ll see for yourself, good luck!

@@dakota3847 there are weekend part-time BMQs that run from Friday night to Sunday afternoon biweekly. you are still a civilian doing civic things on other days
@@CJ-bu9wc I am assuming that you meant your FORCE fitness test on Jan 31? then you are looking at 6months-12months depending on if you can pass the aptitude test, medical, references and if any oversea exp in one go
