Happy New Year! Reviewing Lazio’s 2020 Calendar Year
The early goal was not good for us. Made us relax far too much. Overall I think the players worked well, but they were not sharp enough. Also it was a bit difficult to see what the plan was. In second half we played some high balls to Vecino that looked interesting. I guess Rovella's MOM is deserved, but I am not a fan in general. Could it really be that we need Tavares to play every match?
Nuno is insane form
Excited for more!
Forza Lazio
Brooo the Away jersey looks nice
Never a red card.

another big W forza lazio forza taty, but zag need to give that pinalty to taty
We beat a pot 3(Dynamo K.) opponent away from home with 0-3 whilst our neighbours drew a home match vs a pot 4(Atl. bilbao) opponents . It will be great to see Riomma vs Dynamo K. (although they will have the home advantage) it’ll be interesting to see what they can do against a team we steamrolled through away from home.
Lazio need to find the playern to set piece taker. Corner and free kick is realy realy bad.
Can't believe i woke up at 330am to watch that. I really should temper my expectations for the season. Expect nothing.
Nicely
Both lazzari and nuno is very attck with less deffence, we need good def hooe gigot and romagnoli can cover until gila comeback. If nuno play like this luca is bench warmer sad for him because the car crash.😢
Nuno was great. Lazzari made a lot of questionable decisions.
It looks like we are going to need to break the bank on a serious quality defender.
the best
It’s the players, it’s the mentality and the sense of urgency, they just look lethargic and didn’t care. They couldn’t even get out of a basic press
Isakson + lazzari at right is a bad defence combine
For sure, the right defense showed holes yesterday. The downside is that we signed Tavares at left back that won't be defensively any better. Hysaj they're trying to lay off but nobody seems able or willing to sign him. Pellegrini is questionable if he will become good enough. Marusic isn't a splendid defender often either. Making sure the RCM does his defensive tasks will be vital. I don't quite understand why Lazio didn't trade Isaksson. Well except for Lotito being horrible at selling players.
Great start. Surprised but pleased by dele bashiru. No idea why pellegrini cannot get a start. Keep it up!
I think All of us are sleeping on dele Bashiru Amazing performance from him today He was Everywhere on the pitch. Strong, fast and Technical Love Your work Keep it Up 👊
Casale is rejuve under baroni

All 3 shirts are just beautiful! Looking forward to get them.. and what a goal today from Taty! Forza Lazio!!
I love this jersey 🤗
@Shawn&Caleb, I think you're looking at the end of Immobile's career a bit to sentimental and aren't looking at it objectively. Especially in Serie A In 2 seasons Immobile scored 20 goals, with 8 of them coming from the penalty spot. With him missing one as well. That's 40% of penalty goals. In 2022/2023 the best team at that moment he scored against including penalties was a 9th place Bologna. With the rest mostly being teams in the relegation zone. In 2023/2024 he scored against Atalanta who was 4th at that moment, yet the score was already 3-0 for Atalanta in the last minutes of the match. The rest were teams that weren't great and didn't finish high in the league. 2022/2023 he played in 31 games, 2225 minutes which is almost 25 full matches. To be fair without digging way further into his stats for now, I think I'd find him to have one of the worst statistics of any top 8 serie A team. Immobile has been an absolute legend and deserves all the praise for his career at Lazio. But the last two seasons he was awful. He didn't create much chances, bar from maybe 2 or 3 goals most of them weren't special goals either. And his inability to score against top teams has hurt the club. If we like it or not. The statistics don't lie. Immobile in both seasons if you take the penalties away isn't likely even in the top 25 topscorers in Serie A. Also not if you look at field goals in minutes played. Chance creation was perhaps lower, but also him walking into free spaces. Taking shots was significantly lower. His succesful dribbling statistics aren't that high and his key passing or assists neither. Immobile had quite some injuries, traumatic experiences and probably high mental stress. All human and it's been a hell of a run. But just as Sarri's magic had ran out, Immobile hasn't been a shadow of his former self either. There was no reason to have any faith that his form would magically eventually return. Immobile will be part of Lazio's history, he will be a legend far past his own living. But every story will come eventually to an end. Agree that it would've been great had he gone to another Serie A club, to get a chance at scoring more goals in Serie A. Rather than going to a broke Turkish club. (massive debt) Serie A going full globalist mode makes it there are barely any Italian strikers left. Immobile might very well be the end of an Italian era. There are barely any Italian strikers still on the pitch, even in Serie B. 2021-22 Immobile (27) won the capocannoniere, Scamacca 6th (16), Berardi 7th (15) 22/23 9th Berardi, 23/24 not a single Italian in the top 10. There are also barely any talents. Retegui is naturalised just so he could get his market value up by playing for Italy. (Never lived there nor did he spoke Italian prior to transfer) Only 9 players between the age of 18 - 28 I find that could be considered a talent or good enough to be decent at Serie A. www.transfermarkt.com/detailsuche/spielerdetail/suche/49431784
It is hard to feel anything in particular about the mercato. As boring as it seems I do agree about the strategy though. Bring in young players with potential that does not cost too much. Prices are so beyond what is reasonable that I fully understand that Lazio does not try to bring in big stars.
Lazio has less income from transfers in 20 years of Lotito, then Atalanta had in the last 5 years. The club is awful at selling players. While no youth comes through. Lazio has over the last 20 years spent a lot of money on a youth system that doesn't bring in money or players. As it lacks the structure to implement young players into the first squas. Also Lazio has no own stadium and due to that misses out on a lot of funds. Though financially Lazio seems to be in a stable place. The management of anything except for debt avoidance I don't think is particularly good at Lazio. Is the new strategy that we have players that in 4 years time when they start reaching their potentials, see them walk out of the club on a free? Like we've seen plenty. 20 million dismissed for Castellanos, shows that Lotito is not a good partner to negotiate with. Hence why 9/10x Lazio doesn't get the players it want or buys injured players. Or at the end of the mercato.
In-going transfers: Baroni: 5 it didn't show much ambition as his track record isn't great. It's was about as creative as Edy Reja being linked to Lazio a few years ago. 7.5 Tchaouna&Noslin: both are young and talented. If they can make a direct impact for Lazio remains to be seen. Them having Serie A experience counts, Baroni having worked with Noslin as well. (I do think for half a year we paid a lot and would've prefered Italian players. Artistico: serie d young striker, doubt he'll ever get a chance. But lets see. No opinion. 7: Castrovili, skillful Italian player that if he remains fit could be a great addition. That being said, he has barely played in the last two years due to his knee injuries. If the second knee operation has done it's work and it's no longer a weakness. This transfer is great. But for now a 7. 6.5 - Tavares, not great at defending which I think will cost defensive problems. Also again not an Italian player with no experience in serie A either. Don't think this is the best we could've gotten. 7 Fisayo - again a relatively young talent with no serie A experience. Remains to be seen if he can make the difference. Outgoing: 6.5 - Luis Alberto, this was bound to happen. We enjoyed his service for many years and with his personality we kept him for quite some time. After the selling through percentage there aren't much millions going Lazio's way. 4.5 - Felipe Anderson, not receiving a transfersum for this player isn't ideal. Him not going to a rival does sweeten it somewhat. 8.5 - Immobile. The end of a legendary era has come. Unfortunately Immobile in the last two seasons hasn't shown that he's still a capable striker. With like half of his goals coming from penalties. Next to that he isn't an assist king. Immobile made Lazio make the next step, now Lazio needs to walk on their own. Getting a fine sum and not having to pay his salary no longer is a blessing in the sky! 6 - Kamada leaving on a tranfer free, this player could've provided with a lot of funds. He was worth a lot. Lazio paid a high years salary and it hasn't done anything for Lazio. It was quite an accomplishment getting him though. It didn't work out, not rating it lower due to that. 8 - Maximiliano 8million, kept the loss relatively low with this transfer. 6- Raul Moro 2.5million, once again a talented player that Lazio wasn't able to integrate in the squad. Fortunately he's sold and was loaned out quite a lot. - Thus far not selling of Castellanos is something I disliked, for 20million I think we definitely should've sold him after not a great first season. - Lazio being active on the transfer period early, rather then what Lazio mostly does. Too late in the window - lack of offloading of players - not signing someone like Berardi to replace the great players that just left us 6.5 I'd rate it thus far. With the current squad I doubt Lazio will be up there for Champions League football.
Id give it a 7/10 as well. Very happy with the work being done early and the signings being strategic areas of need. I'm still worried about goals, so would like another legit striker. We should be opportunistic late in the Mercato and pounce if another guendouzi like talent becomes available.
6 out of ten. Only replacing squad players not sure if we bought anyone with that quality but we lost a lot of quality aswell.
His wife killed his career
Sad, but I do think he can come back to the club. As a coach I hope. Or maybe something else in the administration.
