It is called "SST" or "Source Speedrun Tools" and it comes pre-packaged with all old L4D2 versions that you can get from the L4D Speedrun Discord server. Yeah this is running from the 2007 SDK that you can get from Steam then a mod called "Ghosting" is installed top of it, then few of the maps that have cutscenes have been removed, this is part of the category as well, the full category on Speedrun.com is called HL1 Movement Fun% Fun% = No cutscenes. and the HL1 Movement mod is just couple .DLL files you put in a folder and I assume(?) the mod injects them into the game at launch to modify the player movement to try mimic Half-Life 1 like movement. You can play this category on the SDK 2013 Singleplayer branch too if you want multicore rendering and less prone to crashing but it is slower in the save/load spam, so it is just more enjoyable for me personally to run and play multiple hours per session.

This might have been the stream where I got a PB 4 different times and the stream length was like 12 - 14 hours, + I just sort of zone into the game sometimes super hard and there are some Left 4 Dead 2 runs on this channel that has me not blink for like 10 minutes at one point because I am so focused lol. It looks fucking hilarious though

I don't think I am quite following, the getting on top of the generator is the easy part its among the most free common jumps you can do, the problem is that the top of the generator, the lights that we stand on don't have any nav meshing meaning the AI doesn't have a way of pathing there optimally. Getting one of the commons in annoying enough but the only way to get the full boost for the skip itself means you have to jump for the common jump before the common is climbing making it either getting a boost or not quite literally 😅

no, on highway that I have done now over 13 thousand times I have a certain lines that I always follow. So after hours upon hours of repeating the same thing I know by feeling and memory when do I need to press the spacebar. Common jumps are the only thing that I smash my spacebar on because I have no clue what the timing are for those.

@johnblackops the xbox version of the game is more similar to the PC version of 2147. And this is played on 2000 so there are 3 things that are different and slighty slower. 2:21 - "Propane skip" on Fairgrounds doesnt work on Xbox. You need to go the "intended" way. 4:38 - "Coaster skip" is little different on newer versions of the game and this way of skipping it is very unique to the older versions of the game. But everything else should work even the "Charger skip" done on Barns.

Speedrunning l4d uses an old version of the game which can be downloaded from the Official L4D Speedrunning Discord which already be default comes with SST (Source Speedrun Tools) that has a in-built bhop script you can also download SST separately from SST website linked here. Read the instructions before installing so you understand what you are installing and what it is used for. But heres the link; mikes.software/sst/

Well that just means you arent hitting the bhop bhopping in l4d requires to hit a +jump input (so spacebar) in a 33ms window when landing on the ground, to reach this level of bhopping that is on the video took me 2 years of grinding and 12 thousand attempts

well yeah only allowed mods on the leaderboards of l4d2 extended categories which allow the mutation "Fortnight Challanges" made by Daroot Leafstorm. He votes to change difficulty in order to kill the bots easier so they don't get in his way, he binds it to a key I believe.

In speedrunning we use binds to vote between difficulties without opening the pause menu and changing it from there. Going between Expert and Easy to kill the bots and then make the rest of the level easier to survive and go fast on.
