I honestly couldn't tell you if ghosts are actually real or not. I used to not believe in ghosts, but then for a while i thought it may be possible because i ended up seeing something paranormal every night. A really small shadow figure with wings would float around me as I slept. I thought, there's no way that isn't real, i see it every night consistently! but then i realized, it's something that shows up as I sleep, and i've realized recently I may have sleep apnea of some kind because it feels like there's some kind of obstruction in my throat when laying down trying to sleep, making it harder to breath... I could have easily just been hallucinating that entire time, over the course of the few years it's been happening. It also eventually became more of a blob of shadow in my vision rather than a little figure, and it ALWAYS goes away when i get up and control my breathing. So if that, the only thing making me think, the paranormal might be real, ended up not being real, then I don't have any grounds to explain the paranormal as "ghost" anymore. I would LIKE to believe that ghosts and demons and all that are real, because it would simply make life much more interesting like that, but I haven't seen proof at all. Videos can be fake, pictures can be fake (older photos are more convincing since those are much harder to fake), people recalling stories can be entirely mistaken about what they actually saw or heard. And I haven't seen anything paranormal firsthand at all after disproving my own experience as possibly something else.
