Located in Victoria, Australia. We are saw milling on the Australian made "Hardwood Mills" portable, bandsaw mill. I assembled the trailer and bandsaw carriage. Although currently we have it set up on the ground where we have a stockpile of salvaged "Rescued" logs. Sourced from professional arborist tree removal jobs we carry out in the Dandenong ranges.
All things related to rescue of logs, maximising resources extracted from producing high value timber products, from beautiful Blackwood Slabs for unique live edge bench tops, tables etc. Dimensional Timber, boards & veneers. Seed collected, paperbark and wood for smoking meat, maximise valuable resource recovery.
To leave a legacy, record of my life, interests, passions and hobbies, gold prospecting, car rally, woodworking, wood carving - chainsaw art.

Looks great. That's a good size log too! Subscribed
Thanks , will be back at the mill soon and record as much interesting sawmill action as possible
Is that an elusive sk8r Bunyip with curtains
AHH you spotted the Freddo signature, and secret earth message
That's furking dope
I'm probably going to have to dope her she is starting rot rapidly
A GOOD short is one where mid senten.... HAY FREDDOS CALLING ME.
Load her up Jim. Race the rapid rot with what you got but not a lot of stuff users use, make her ooze something new, an experimental brew only known by you or think it through.. what if she grew mushrooms for food and some herbs too. Create us garden gnomes that loam.
First carving to have a associated poem. have to get it lasered on something in scroll form and display together. CLASSIC imagine it took off as a thing with worthy words add Depth and scope of spectrum thru "comismunictredcolabarbengalamiseation"

Yeah, I love the Australian native Acacia Melanoxylon or Victorian Blackwood!
that incredible dude
Cheers, thank you.
That’s not carving. It’s just blowing
Totally fair comment and thank you for saying something, The whole effort this time was terrible and as I expected I have a lot more to learn if I'm ever going to be able to carve anything like as nature makes. If you or anyone wants to see me just making a mess of it. and a piss poor recording, editing and every other You Tube mistake only 40 seconds long th-cam.com/users/shortsUe_3lgS5yz8

Get the crap off your logs? My logs are crap!
Oh I clean my log ❤

Their is so much more to operating a saw mill than you would believe, About this mill. Australian made but constructed by me. Im not very mechanically minded so It was a huge mission that took over a year to complete. There were some issues or say could have been better design of the mill and also some of the materials were not as quality as I expected. overall I would say Its not a bad mill and awesome after some improvements.
Ya it does
get a high pressure cleaner.
Can you cut wet logs?
Yes but why
they run water a a lube on the blade, so yes. the dirt dulls the blade fast
sure can, the logs are still technically wet on the inside
Yes we do run water as lube on the blade,
Yes
All righty ALLRIGHTY
Pick'n em up. pick'n em up
weed wacker with a ziptie might make it easier haha
Interesting
I just feel as though a skill saw or some other form of saw would work best for the bulk of the shaving, even if that wasn't the texture or finish he was looking for I think he could have gotten much closer to the line before going shaving down very thin layers off for the finish, maybe this is a specific scenario and I simply don't understand enough about wood to make that judgment, but if it were me I would have chosen efficiency, measure twice make a single careful cut with high accuracy and I'd be onto the next step, the little details would be added at the finished result rather than the beginning, again maybe I just don't understand what's going on here this is just the perspective I have
This was a reply to my other comment added in the wrong spot
Appreciate the honesty, and the interest. Bit of background, so the edge I'm trying to make straight is actually the cut made way back at the sawmill. This is one of the first boards milled and during the learning process of milling. the board has air dried for 2 years and now with limited tools I thought this method although slow and involved was the best option to get it right. I could have gone more aggressive with the plane but wanted to save as much of the timber as possible. Thank you so much for your thoughts it really helps me to understand how people view my content. I have a bit of speech difficulty's so its hard to narrate clearly what I'm doing
Am i the only one thinking this is the most inefficient way to get this done?
Well tell me what you would do to get this done, I would love to hear some good advice
😅 beat ya meat , b4 a hardwood smoked treat , after the thud , give it a rub, let the K Joe blow its load , full smoke , nice and slow , your no joke bloke.

Very nice 🎉🎉
A good grain filler would boost it greatly
That's a good idea thanks
@@anthonyfraser9757 So many overlook it . Good luck !
That Marri?
Its an Acacia that grows in Victoria Australia, I'm not sure what wattle variety or even if its a strange kind of Victorian Blackwood
Have no ideas but this does look like a wonderful piece of wood
Cheers, thanks for the comment, well its a Melaleuca, tea tree / paperbark log rescued from arborist removal. At the moment I'm calling the piece ""Toe-Tem"" the idea is inside the tree spiritual life giving forces exist To share with the people of the world wonderful things are hidden in plain sight everywhere. I don't plan or design what I will carve, I let the wood guide me.
Don vito corleone? 😂😂

Your back must be killing you. Mine is killing me and I'm not doing the work.
Cheers appreciate the concern, and helping me to think more about setting my work up at a better hight
Cool view Fredo
cheers bud, yeah I'm starting to get creative hopeful to give better content
What's your take or thoughts on the new Stihl battery stuff.?
I think its awesome, more able to run low rpm giving more control at times, neighbours get pissed off less noise, but would be a pain to use all day batts last 1hr or so

So beautiful
sure is
Good wood bruduh
we know the woods good hmmm but really this mini slab is the lowest grade of Blackwood compared to other slabs that have come off the mill🧐 Tell me Professor Haggar : your thoughts on what makes my videos production a big pile of crap💩? anyone's answers are appreciated aswell. 🤔
Just like every pieces of wood… expands and contracts with changes in humidity, and changes color over time as it's exposed to air and sunlight.
Dammmmn, that is gorgeous!! Do you ever make any furniture yourself with these or do you just sell them on as they are? It would be savage to see what kind of furniture people could make from these amazing pieces!
cheers mate, yeah i think its beautiful too, as yet I haven't managed to sell and yet to furniture makers and I don't have a workshop, I have sold some to a cabinet maker who is installing it into a house and when finished I will film and put up om tube
That will be a unique and beautiful kitchen so. I will definitely be looking forward to seeing that video 👌@anthonyfraser9757
You are on it here. Flat to the mat! Keep goin till you cant go no more! Thats what its all about 🙂
You know it! I started a new channel Freddo's rally career, im going to put all my rally vids on there from now on
I have subbed to your rally channel. I will definitely be keeping an eye on your rally career 🙂👊@anthonyfraser9757

@@anthonyfraser9757 I'm catching up on your rally channel now. I'm enjoying the videos 🙂👊
@@footdownracing thanks i tried recording in 4K and no go, I got to get better graphics card, spew'n the guy I bought me new computer said it would be good to go, i feel a bit ripped off. my fault shoulds done more research
The grain in that is beautiful 👌 Hi man, I hope you are well. I said I would check out your channel, and checkbout some of your rally videos and I saw this. It caught my eye. I saw Haggar do videos cutting timber like this too. He could have possibly even been working with you at the time. Forgive my ignorance, but what do you do with the timeber planks you cut? Do you make furniture or sell the planks as they are? I know that timber is wet but does it hold the strong colours when it drys? Maybe varnish brings that colour back if it does fade during drying? Im a carpenter by trade, so I do appreciate nice grain patterns and colours in timber.
Thanks appreciate the feed back even better when it got your interest without pushing ya to check me vid milling, this is the link to the best example of some different grain in Victorian Blackwood slabs all in one quick vid. th-cam.com/video/2tJ3qG5VLgA/w-d-xo.html I love this timber so much, the play in the light as you look from one side to the other, the colours change from bright shine to dark n deep. When Haggar and I get the chance to catch up we enjoy running a log or on the mill, or working on some big trees. we only get to catch up once in a while but we always have a blast. My channel picture is Blackwood grain just want to say Haggar has been saying to me this bloke from foot down racing he's so awesome rah ra ra for ages, and after now I've communicated with you and seen a bit of your content I totally agree. I will check out some more of your content soon, cheers mate
@anthonyfraser9757 It's a beautiful area you live in. It looks like scenery from the old Western movies with the cowboys and Indians. No buildings or telegraph wires to ruin the view. It's great that you and Haggar do get to meet up every now and again. He is an awesome dude, and talking to you, I know you are the same. Down to earth, friendly and passionate about your hobbies. Keep doin what you do, my friend 🙂👊
hey mate ya boot is open
That is some fine looking timber mate!
Cheers appreciate the feedback
wtf did you do to that golf LMAO
nothing in compared to a little further down the stage, massive wipe out destruction ending my rally off the cliff. shattered, I play with no restarts, full hardcore damage, and no assists. so as a simulation it as real as possible, people who restart ova n ova thinking they can pretend that they actually made it to end after 35 attempts are delusional Anyway you might want to see the crushing end to my entire rally. way more worth a lol at my expense., it will at more realism getting mocked for pushing that little to much, enjoy , fully sideways sick brotha
